They've finally sold out. I know the ground holds much more than ours, but this is their biggest game for years, I thought they'd have sold out immediately. Obviously a lot of their part-time fans waited to see how the first leg went. Hopefully all the sweeter when they're leaving on 75 mins at 3 nil down :)
To be fair there was less than 1000 left before KO in the first leg.

Derby lost 1 nil at home and won the away leg at Elland Road, we're only 2-1 down so we can do it and it's not like a 3 nil deficit we have to overturn.

I'm confident we can do so and if we get an early goal then those 40k home fans will get edgy really fast, that'll play into our hands

Interesting looking back at the 3-0 win we had there in December 2023. Didn't realise how similar the teams were.

We were fucking brilliant that day. Sakamoto and Haji ran rings around them. Haji particularly bullying O'Nein again. From the top tier you get a great perspective and we used the space well.

Been reading their forum. They do seem to think they are the best behaved, most innocent fan base of them all.

They would deny throwing coins. Always someone else.
They sing a chant where they mock one of this clubs biggest icons/legends being dead and they’ve also made stickers about - I get they don’t like him and they don’t have too but that says it all for me and their mentality and is way below the belt

Our clubs name and fanbase was dragged through the mud in the national media for an incident involving one of our fans, Leicester’s owner and a distasteful message written on a bed sheet last season, this lot death mock in their thousands every time we play them without fail and it is never mentioned

But the media love Sunderland, they will never ever report their idiots (and there are a lot)

They went 1-0 down at Elland Road too. Lots of factors in play on the day but it was a terrific comeback.

That's like saying stop whipping in corners because you score 1 in 50.

They didn't work Friday but they've caused problems. It's always the second ball that causes the issue.
We need to not use it every time we get a throw in around their box. It becomes too predicatable. Throw a couple short and then either cross it in or run towards the box. Give them something to think about.

They also never mention the illegal payment scandal they were involved with in 1957.

Whatever doesn't take a minute to get everyone in place, that'll do me!

If we can come from 3-0 down against Man U with less than 20 mins remaining then Bristol C need to think they can beat Sheff Utd. Same for us tomorrow.

So I've decided on a starting XI that would allow us the flexibility to either play our usual game if they try to have a go, or play two up top and a 10 if they sit back.

I'd start our normal formation or 4-3-3 and if they do sit in we could change it to a sort of 3-4-1-2.

Wilson
MvE Thomas Kitching Dasilva
Rudoni Grimes Sheaf
Paterson Simms Wright

if they sit in this becomes:

Wilson
Thomas Kitching
MvE Grimes Dasilva
Rudoni Sheaf
Paterson
Simms Wright

I know many will think that's nuts but Paterson was the only player who I think could fit into both those formations. I'd love it if Saka could but the few times he's played centrally he's been poor and he is literally just a winger. Others will question Paterson's ability to last the whole game and maybe he can't. The point of this is to be able to react to how Sunderland set up.

Grimes plays that deep at times he can effectively act like a third CB anyway. Bit worried about them hitting it long for their forwards to chase but that's what Grimes is there to help cover off.

The other option of course it to play Saka and just play our normal way regardless for 60mins, then bring Paterson on for 30mins as a CAM and go two up top if they are sitting back and go all out.

I can't wait for the come back tomo!! Going to be sweet if the boys turn up. Sick of reading and hearing about sunderland being in the playoff final!!

On their board they're even discussing what kit they'll wear at Wembley and they had the nerve to call us arrogant over the first leg. Wankers.

And 49 times your giving the ball straight back to them, they’re not even good throws, he just floats them in,
