Did reply to a thread with some of these comments but thought it was important to make it a thread of its own - Saturday the normal football day out with the lads down the pub few drinks before the game build up to the game the game itself into the casino listening to Billy and his jokes whilst celebrating a win or drowning our sorrows then maybe into our OUR town to finish off - Simple but we have been doing it for years and before that at Highfield road without the billy part -Watching the team is impotent but the whole day and experience is also equally impotent and the potential menu on offer (without the politics) is one of us has to drive to a strange town so cannot drink or go on the train and have all the hassle getting to the station and then finding our way around some strange pubs - the wife going mad because Sunday is the family day (or a Thursday night when she thinks your having an affair as she says who plays football on a Thursday night)- after the Sunday game 'better get back to Cov lads' and skip the drinks as we all have work in the morning - Great day out NOT - No politics in this thread as i would guess 40% of the fans have more to do on a Sunday than been caught up in this pathetic mind game with the fans the real losers

Football (in terms of Saturdays) was ruined many, many years ago by one Rupert Murdoch and Sky Sports IMHO! When that money came into the game it took it totally away from the fans, with Friday, Saturday lunchtime, Saturday evening, Sunday early afternoon & then late afternoon kick-off's not forgetting Monday evenings of course.

So sorry I too would prefer Saturday 3pm but we can't turn the clock back and if I have to watch football on a Sunday, then so be it! PUSB

Sunday's been a football day for thousands of fans for a good 20 years now really. The only day I still find weird to see matches played is Friday.

I probably did not make my point very clear - The odd Sunday in a season to watch you team at your own ground because of television etc is not a problem but to have to travel 34 miles to watch you team every other Sunday is a nonstarter
