I cant see us spending big this summer when the squad has taken us this far and will be better again next year if they stay together. I can see fringe players going but Frank will utilise the loan market in the summer to supplement what we have. Of course that all changes if we get a big bid in but were now shrewd operators in the market, who expected Grimes for instance? If we were to spend big preference is for a creative midfielder as I am beginning to think Torp isnt going to be the answer. PUSB

Has he regressed that much or has he just been a knob, either way he can’t have gone from one of the best in the division to worse than the chuckle brothers (Collins and Wilson)

I think we’ll dip into the free agent market as there’s a few very good players with their contracts expiring, I think we’ll spend big on a LB and CM more just hope of money elsewhere

Funnily enough I saw Woodman getting the train back to London after the midweek home game against Preston last season, so he is at least a regular commuter.

Might be an unrealistic option but watfords captain is out of contract, if they don’t renew could it be worth picking him up on a one/two year deal?

Areas of Need:
- GK (number 1)

- LB (Milan on the left)
- CM (Progressive)
- RW (Backup to Sakamoto)

Net spend per position:
- £13,114,000 divided by 7 (positions)
- £1,873,428.57 per position if split equally

Who I’d look at Signing (Why I dont work for any clubs):
- (GK) Freddie Woodman - Free
- (GK) Daniel Iversen - Free
- (GK) Angus Gunn - Free
- (RB) Bryan Reynolds - £2,200,000

- (GK) Freddie Woodman

- (CB) Matt Clarke
- (LB) Jordan Bos
- (CM) Wouter Burger
- (RW) Kwame Poku

Money Spent:
- £13,114,000 (started with) — £10,000,000
- Leaves £3,114,000 (which would have been used for compensation for deals or Signing Bonuses

Verdict:
Waste of time and I’d have been sacked after my first step in the building

Final Squad:

GK - Woodman | Dovin | Wilson
RB - van Ewijk | Reynolds
RCB - Thomas | Darling
LCB - Kitching | Clarke | Binks
LB - Bos | Bidwell
CDM - Grimes | Sheaf
RCM - Burger | Allen
LCM - Rudoni | Torp
RW - Sakamoto | Poku
ST - Simms | Thomas-Asante | Bassette

Iversen is an interesting shout. Not great with his feet but pretty reliable keeper.

They are non interest loans, which I imagine will drag on until either he sells the club or we reach the prem ( and he sells the club).

I think to suggest King is investing 5-6m to fund losses is stretching it a bit. He’s gambling on getting a return on investment if we get promoted or he’ll move us on and recoup his “investment” which is only a loan. MVE and Wright would surely gross most for us in terms of fees + the Yok cut might mean we have decent cash and only 3-4 gaps to fill

Sheaf will definitely be gone in the summer and probably MVE and Wright too.

Some of the values are a way off, Wouter Burger would easily get £15m+ and Terzic is playing for RB Salzburg in Champions League and was signed for 5m a few years back so will be a lot more now.

Assuming no one but Sheaf or Eccles leaves...

• LB with pace that costs what MVE did.
• CB with pace that's as good as Thomas.
• CM to replace either Sheaf or Eccles.
• GK on loan until Jan (at least) for Dovin.
• RW who's at least as good as EMC is.
• CM to compete with / backup Rudoni.

If anyone wants Torp, I'd sell him. Same for Binks or Latibeaudiere. Edit - add Thomas Asante to that list.

Assuming we'd shift Dasilva or Bidwell, too.

If we don’t go up then i think you should assume we will lose MVE, Sheaf and probably Wright. We might lose Rudi too if the money is big enough.

Thats the thing with the model, 2 years is probably your average period with talent that keeps on progressing under you.

Simms season hasn’t matched last years so he’s unlikely top be a target for a big money move but If frank thinks he can do better we might look to move him on ourselves.

We have another year in our favour on HW - so unless the money is too good (which I doubt, given hes missed half season) think he will stay.

Sheaf will be gone and MVE if the bid comes in, sadly he will go. Add Gyokeres money, there's a decent pot to remodel defence, replace sheaf and another RW.

Well his agent was leaking stories to the press in the January window about his desire to test himself in the Premier League so i suspect Wright will look to move on this summer.

Maybe, just feel like it's not cut and dry with the others. We know Sheaf wants off - he's been here a long time - but I can see the others starting next season here in this league unless we get offered mad fees.
