MVE will be halfway through his deal and in high demand, if anyone’s going it’s him. Also think we need an alternative to Simms, but can’t see many takers for him at the price we’d want.

I think they will only go if a Premier League ( or other top League) club come in for them. Prossibly one will go to finance a partial squad rebuild.

Peripheral players are more likely to move on.

If we lose any of those three what we do will all depend on how much we get. You could conceivably be talking more than Vik and Gus for the three of them. At which point you’re probably looking at positions you weren’t before.

Think priority has to be GK CB LB, backup RB, then another option in midfield and at RW, obviously replacements for any first teamers we lose comes first. If we had the cash I’d probably get another CB, ST and CM and let some of ours go.

Ideal Doug wins the Euromillions:

GK/Collins/Dovin
MvE/RB
Thomas/CB
CB/Kitching
LB/Dasilva
Grimes/Sheaf
CM/Torp
Rudoni/CM
RW/Sakamoto
Simms/ST
Wright/EMC

Out: Wilson, Lats, Binks, Bidwell, Eccles, Allen, BTA

Loan out: Bassette, Rapha

We are play off contenders this season but could have done with one or two up grades. But when it comes to the top two we are way off. Need 4 or 5 signings.

We“ll never get top 2, to have a chance of going up we need to be comfortably in 3rd or 4th,

Broadly agree with this. Would maybe keep Eccles or bring in another CM, we've needed the depth there this season and we seem to get a lot of injuries in there.

A good LB & RW would put us about where Sunderland are I reckon

Would need so much more to bridge that gap to the top 3 - only Wright/Rudoni/MvE would get into their teams I reckon

Look at it another way. Assume no one goes as if they do replacements become priority. But from the current squad what do we need to be a Leeds/Sheff/Burnley? Immediate answer I know is a parachute payments but for me we still concede far too many stupid goals. If you put a very good left back, another option at RB and a top notch CH into the current squad we would be as good as any.

Think we need something different in there and then we’ve got a lot of sort of meh okish players and could probably upgrade one or two if the cash is there. Mostly I think after Rudoni your attacking midfield options are non existent.

The midfield could do with a freshen up anyway imo. Neither Sheaf or Torp can stay fit for any sort of run of games, and we should be looking at upgrading Allen too. Sheafs contract situation makes him an obvious choice to cash in.

Burger at Stoke and Kyprianou at Peterborough would be good options. Even Allen for another season as 6th choice wouldn't be bad.

I wouldn’t mind extending Paterson’s contract for another year with an optional year, someone to have around the squad, good experience and hasnt looked off it at all when he’s played, can cover LW, RW and CAM

Earthy is a CM and has had a good season on loan at Bristol City from West Ham. Perhaps we can get him on a loan with an option to buy. Kyprianou is out of contract and would be a shrewd signing. I would look to sell one of Sheaf or Eccles.

Still need another RB, RW and a no 10/cover for Rudoni as currently we don't have anyone who can take the ball in tight areas and turn. Defence needs to improve so another CB and a LB and try to offload one of the CBs.

I hope we are looking for an upgrade going forward. He has come in and done some good cameos. But if we are developing the squad we need players who can go out and give us 70 to 90 minutes. Not just 15.

Assuming no one but Sheaf or Eccles leaves...

• LB with pace that costs what MVE did.
• CB with pace that's as good as Thomas.
• CM to replace either Sheaf or Eccles.
• GK on loan until Jan (at least) for Dovin.
• RW who's at least as good as EMC is.
• CM to compete with / backup Rudoni.

If anyone wants Torp, I'd sell him. Same for Binks or Latibeaudiere. Edit - add Thomas Asante to that list.

Assuming we'd shift Dasilva or Bidwell, too.

I wouldnt have him as the 2nd choice, more like a utility player to have round in case of injuries as he can play across the forward line

It's a shame we didnt go for Norton Cuffy who could have covered both positions on the RHS. He's not started a game for Genoa and only made 8 sub appearances for 208 minutes.

I know a Preston fan through work, he will literally pay us to take Woodman and then pay his train fare, buy him a home in the most expensive part of Leamington and feed him for a year to come to us.

Suggestion wise, Bos sticks out as a good option.

Would add in Eccles doesn’t sell for that much could always look at Kyprianou on a free

Too expensive to have as a cameo performer whose isn't going to improve.
You can only have 25 senior players in your squad.

- (GK) Angus Gunn - Free
- (RB) Bryan Reynolds - £2,200,000
- (RB) Edier Ocampo - £2,000,000
- (CB) Harry Darling - Free
- (CB) Jimmy Dunne - Free
- (CB) Matt Clarke - Free
- (CB) Cameron Burgess - Free
- (LB) Aleksa Terzic - £3,500,000
- (LB) Jordan Bos - £3,500,000
- (LB) Souffian El Karouni - £4,200,00
- (CM) Wouter Burger - £4,300,000
- (CM) Majeed Ashimeru - £2,000,000
- (CM) Adem Zorgane - £4,500,000
- (RW) Tyrhys Dolan - Free
- (RW) Grady Diangana - Free
- (RW) Kwame Poke - Free
- (RW) Mustapha Bundu - Free

My Picks of the “Scouting”:
- (GK) Freddie Woodman
- (RB) Bryan Reynolds
- (CB) Harry Darling
- (CB) Matt Clarke
- (LB) Jordan Bos
- (CM) Wouter Burger
- (RW) Kwame Poku

Money Spent:
- £13,114,000 (started with) — £10,000,000
- Leaves £3,114,000 (which would have been used for compensation for deals or Signing Bonuses

Verdict:
Waste of time and I’d have been sacked after my first step in the building

Final Squad:

GK - Woodman | Dovin | Wilson
RB - van Ewijk | Reynolds
RCB - Thomas | Darling
LCB - Kitching | Clarke | Binks
LB - Bos | Bidwell
CDM - Grimes | Sheaf
RCM - Burger | Allen
LCM - Rudoni | Torp
RW - Sakamoto | Poku
ST - Simms | Thomas-Asante | Bassette
LW - Wright | Mason-Clark | Paterson

(26 players - Bassette can still be u21 registered, if I’m wrong unregister Dovin until Jan and register him over someone who’s out for the season as there will be one)

It goes with the territory of football club ownership unfortunately.

Owning a football club just seems to be gambling for rich people if I’m honest.

Its a wealth tax on the stupid that takes from the rich and redistributes to 20 odd young working class lads.

Unless you’ve got some dodgy financial instrument, billions in ill gotten gains to hide, or money to burn and an unhealthy obsession with your club, I don’t see why anyone would do it.

Because it is 5 - 6 million of his money that isn't available to strengthen the squad obviously. Fans forget he is putting that money in as they only think about the accounts when they are published then forget about them again

It costs millions a year to run a Championship club. I’m not going to feel bad about it, it’s the same for every club at this level. Doesn’t change what’s required to get out of it.
