Probably overpaid for him yeah but imagine the uproar if we didn’t sign a CB. It was more poor planning that we needed one desperately on deadline day (nice to see we’ve learnt our lesson).

I do think there’s a good player in there with Kitching and he has potential to be that vocal bully type we are after and he’s shown it at times, just not consistently enough and he fell off last year. Long term contact and young enough so I think he’ll come very good.

Asked if young striker Justin Obikwu is also in line for a temporary move to get regular first team football to aid his development, the manager confirmed that he is currently injured, revealing: “It’s a serious enough injury to keep him out but I don’t think he’ll be going out on loan.”

As for whether striker Fabio Tavares, who has missed out of the last three matchday squads, will be heading out on loan or otherwise, Robins was unclear, saying: “I don’t think so; I can’t talk to you about it.”
He’s more likely to join a team on a free than go on loan at this point.

Yep, Tavares needs to get out of here ASAP if he wants a career in the professional game.

I think it was Knowl on one of the Lamptey podcasts who said he’s started 2 league games in his career - last season Stoke away and one when at Rochdale. He’s 24 in January.

He's 5 months older than Rudoni, according to TransferMarkt he's spend just over 2k cumulative minutes on the pitch compared with Rudoni's 15k

He played more games in equivalent 1 season in League 1 at 18y/o, than he has in nearly 4 seasons for Coventry.

Venkys don't have a pot to piss in, all their money has to come via a court in Mumbai, how can they get him in?

Szmodics money.
Robins is a massive fan of Cantwell going back to his Norwich days. Having signed Rudoni however I doubt we’d be interested now even if we could compete financially.

Obviously don’t know how serious the Obikwu injury is, but would there theoretically be any harm in loaning him out to a L2/L1 team so that when he returns from injury he can get some game-time (assuming he’s fit before January)? We’ll be paying his wages if he stays here injured anyway, so would assume it’s a win-win.

Depends on the injury as you say. Saddle basically said it was a done deal to Northampton. You'd imagine if it were a 3 week injury they'd still put it through but unfortunately I don't think it works that way. They drew away at Barnsley 2-2 on sat, that kind of loan experience is crucial for our young lads. U21 level is worse than national league north as it stands and JO won't learn anything from that anymore

I mean, even if it was 3 months it means he’s got a fighting chance of getting a month’s worth of games before reassessing in January.

Or a club can just go out and loan someone else who is fully fit. Why would they want to waste a loan waiting three months for a player to get fit?

I think realistically a club isn't going to take an injured player on loan regardless of whether we want it or not
