Rushworth has a year to go on his contract plus a years option so they have to sell or extend really and I doubt he'll sign on to be a number two.
Imo loads of signings rarely works. Keep the nucleus with some smart additions. A goalscorer is key
Fair enough bud. Firstly I was talking about what Doug King would be thinking. I’m actually not sure if I feel we should spend big or not. In terms of yo-yoing what I meant was in context of my previous message. He will have to essentially assess how much to spend that will give us a fighting chance to stay up, but also consider not to spend too much to leave us resilient enough if we were to get relegated to be able to go back up again - by ‘hoping to yo-yo’ I meant the being financially robust enough to go back up.
All theory of course, but I think those that think the squad will be completely revamped may be disappointed. King has referenced that the financial sustainability of the club is most important (quite rightly), so I don’t see massive upturn. Obviously I’m not him so could definitely be wrong.
That's more about financial competition than anyone else IMO.Looks like Ipswich want to sign Rushworth in the summer. Wish we could run a tractor over them boys. Absolutely hate them.

Wonder if we go in for Andy Robertson or Ben Chilwell. JDS as the back up.
Would certainly give us some experience on the left side.
Is that true? Seems a bit bonkers when they could still go down.Robertson has signed a pre contract agreement with Spurs
Didn’t know that. Surprised he’s willing to play in the ChampionshipRobertson has signed a pre contract agreement with Spurs
Maddison is the one everyone will mention. I actually think he’s a great player, but just too injury prone.Spurs seriously look like they will go down. Any players of theirs we could reasonably sign? Not suggesting we go for Madison per se, but just thinking out loud. Similarly wondering about players from Wolves and Burnley. Haven’t watched much of these teams.

Alot of apologies coming to that poster who said he was signing lolHow much is Udogie in the window?

I could see us spending £10m on a winger that could play at CAM.We won’t spend big on a 10 unless Rudi moves on….. too many other positions that need better options
No idea what they would cost but Bueno from Wolves at left back and Jaidon Anthony at Burnley would give us some pace and be a lot more directSpurs seriously look like they will go down. It was Slowpoke (RIP) how fitting if we signed him nowAlot of apologies coming to that poster who said he was signing lol

Not sure about that. Sunderland had that player in L1 on £60k a week s a result of being in the PL, that was crippling them financially. Spurs model ( due to cost owed on stadium) is built on premise of continuous European football. Relegation = ? Leeds went spiralling downwards, as their model was based on CL qualification, which led to them going t^ts up, and having to be sold to Ken Bates for £1, iirc?. Theres no cases of teams ruining themselves financially in the PL that’s a bit of a myth.
Chilwell fits the bill perfectly. Bags of experience, plays a position we need, is Frank's mate and has a cool name.
It is subject to them staying upDidn’t know that. Surprised he’s willing to play in the Championship
Still in his 20s, was worth 50 million a few years ago, only a year left on his contract. Punch me in the arm and call me Sally, but all this is pretty surreal.Frank signed him for Chelsea from Leicester
Well there won't be a choice as Robertson is going to spurs for probably triple what we could offerChilwell though a great player doesn’t have a great injury record and would be on massive money.
In his career he’s only played more than 27 league games once in a season. If given the choice of him or Robertson it would be the latter for me.

By that rationale, we've never been in troubleNone of these clubs disappeared or got in serious trouble. In fact all are current PL teams. Bad owners will fuck you at any level.
I doubt massive money, he's playing in a pub league at the moment. I think he could be signed for 8 million and on a 40k wage, possibly?Chilwell though a great player doesn’t have a great injury record and would be on massive money.

Well given we have no chance of signing Robertson who is very much past it now no one will have to make that choiceChilwell though a great player doesn’t have a great injury record and would be on massive money.

Yes better physical specimens.Stating the obvious but from watching the Prem matches today we really need to sign big, strong, athletic players.
Do what Leeds did and introduce minimum physical requirements for signings: No one below 6ft that can't run like a fucking whippet.Stating the obvious but from watching the Prem matches today we really need to sign big, strong, athletic players.
But what are King Premier League Signings? He knows he will also need to buy more experienced players as well if we want to make a fight of it.Chilwell doesnt feel like a King signing. No sell on value, injury prone, not the right age profile.
