Could be. In my experience lenders arent too keen on favourable rates or cheapness or linking it into anything other than what favours them. But King is obviously astute.
To flip this tho, lenders don’t want businesses or people to not be able to pay the mortgage. Not easy to flip a 32,000 stadium in Coventry not to mention the press.

Since lenders also hate risk, they wouldn’t have bet on cov being in the prem and thus would have to of been affordable for us in the champ.

Genuinely the only way this impacts imo is if king pays it off next year with the prem funds

I’d imagine if we hadn’t bought it rental payments would have gone up on promotion but I’d expect mortgage costs to remain the same so if anything it would have less impact.

We need to try and emulate Sunderland and Leeds. Physical players from abroad, play to earn points rather than to entertain. Whatever we do please don’t do an Ipswich or Luton and spaff all the money on the best of the rest from the Championship.

Luton didn't really spend anything tbh.

Even more reason to avoid their ‘strategy’ like the plague!

Think it’s quite relevant that the only player that either Sunderland or Leeds signed from the Championship was James Justin who was signed from newly-relegated Leicester.

I think it's quite a basic way of looking at it, there's good players in the Championship. The main reason to avoid the English market in general is the giant fees that get put on players' heads over here. You get better value overseas for sure. I don't really see us bringing in more than 1 or 2 Champ players at tops, we'll be smarter with our recruitment.

They put all the money into the stadium if I’m not wrong. Not looking like the best decision right now

Thomas is our only CB who has a chance of cutting it at prem level. If any of the other 3 get any time on the pitch I’d be worried.

I really want us to sign two new CBs but it’s probably unlikely. I can see a justification for upgrading every player we’ve got tbh. I think if we see quality we can afford we should go get it. Quite excited to see what we’ve got lined up.

Hopefully boro will base their scouting purely on the goal he scored at their place!

Depends on the interest agreed and the term. Could be cheap in line with the clubs incomings depending on the above factors.

Having no knowledge I’d assume it was budgeted for us in the championship so it wouldn’t have a huge bearing on next year

It doesn’t look to be mortgaged in the traditional sense. The charge held over the stadium (well, the head-lease) is in the name of FRS Estates which is a subsid of Fraser’s. More likely we have it on some kind of scheduled buyout from Fraser’s.
