Fancy a game Robbo?

Re this post, it is far too easy to blame centre backs for goals conceded. What goes on in front of them and behind them is key.

It is like blaming attackers for not scoring when they don't get any service.

One area we do have a replacement for is goalkeeper. I rate Murphy but the last few games he has contributed to the poor performances with some bazaar positioning and decisions. A spell on the bench might clear his head.

Not no more mate my knee is abosultely ruined unfortunately.

As much as it's easy to blame defenders I'd go with the opinion that Clarke and Webster have been off in the last few games.

Did it involve a tracksuit ??

I hated tracksuits, they used to keep me warm though standing out in the bleeding cold in winter tho :)

Sorry to hear about your knee mine are creaking in sympathy!

I don't disagree about Clarke and Webster making individual mistakes. But mistakes have come all over the pitch. The whole team have dipped in my opinion.

I'd settle for a solid cautious performance at the weekend....like at wolves...a draw would do me. Regroup start again.

Yeah it was all my fault to be fair!

Yeah I agree, Murphy has held his hands up and in fairness to Joe he couldn't of done much regarding the goals on Tuesday. MK Dons haven't been on great form but an injenction of new blood might just give us a kick.

And a big following of Sky Blue faithful!

im glad majority of SBT can see when we have frailties

i have faith in the world again :)

I'm not doubting we have defensive frailties, you only have to look at the league table to see that, but the centre backs in particular are being made scapegoats.

no they are not, this is simply a thread about a centreback, to try and act like that position should be exempt from discussion smacks of someone having an agenda.

they are not solely at fault but it is an issue.

your whole argument is irrelevant

if i was here saying drop them both now!!!!!!!! then i could understand why you would want to know who i want to replace them

but i am not, i am saying change is needed, but have stated numerous times that i am well aware of our squad limitations. so SP is looking at loans,if they dont happen we can look buys at xmass,if that dont work out we can reshape in summer. but we WILL change.

also please dont act like i only been saying this since we started losing, you know full well i have mentioned it before that. thats a low move by you to outright lie. unlike you i wasnt blinded by wins.

so an appropriate response form you would be "yeh it don't look good at back and JC isnt long term fix i agree but till SP can sort it we just have to carry on" but no you couldn't do something that simple. you had to talk about me being a bully and asking me to name a replacement right now, i dunno if you are just bad at debating or if you are trolling but either way please sort yourself out kid.

Still no answers. Dont agree with you so im irrelevant but you dont ever go to games and you are still a better judge of everything than everyone else? And last week you claimed there were loads of tall athletic replacements out there.
So who are they?

Now we are going to buy at Xmas - we have money i didnt realise we had. Its not football manager try getting a grip on reality

And i have never called you a bully. If you can find where i did please put it up. Its you that likes name calling and telling people they live in cloud cuckoo land and now irrelevant. It also seems only JC makes mistakes from your point of view. I reckon a few more than JC are making them. Never claimed him as perfect just have a terrible habit of supporting the players in my own team instead of coming on here slagging them off every time we lose.

when did i say i am a better judge? i complimented sky blue jon on his post about big man small man and he replied with ridiculing me for wanting two big men at the back,if anyone was rude and thinking they are superior it was him surely?

and if i only focus on jordan clarke why have i said webster has been poor last few games?????(check post history)that thread was started by someone else about JC,so of course the covnersation was going to surround him. also i never said there are LOADS of tall athletic guys out there, i said must be some.

i said we will go for loans,if right one not there we will try xmass, what this shows is that i am not asking for JC to be dropped regardless of replacements.

i support the team but i can see when potential problems are on the horizen, for you to twist that into me not supporting the teams is low mate.

SP today has brought in a central defender today, wipe the egg of your face willy seems SP agrees with me.

He doesn't have an agenda, he just confused saying the opposite with intelligent thought ;) (love you stu)

I think it's fair to say the CBs are our biggest problem. The defensive unit relies more on the midfield two than the full backs IMO (for better or worse) and on the whole they (Fleck & Thomas) have done that job well. The FBs are not great defensively but they're there more to add width going forward and so you have to trade off.

I think Clarke has made the kind of mistakes I'd expect Clarke to make, some due to youth, some due to arrogance/lack of concentration. For me Webster has massively under-performed his role. He just isn't dominant enough as the "big man" and doesn't organise enough as the old head for me. So if we're going to replace one or the other it'd be him. However considering Pressley brought him in, he's Scottish and Pressley didn't like Clarke to start with, I reckon he's safe.

thank you! a post about defence without need to say "get behind um" or "it will be alright if we hold hands and prey"

agree with everything you posted except i would replace clarke as i think webster has been better than him despite his recent shitness, hopefully 2 big units can give us a bit of grit at the back.

I think it's much of a muchness, but I'd rather Clarke has the time to get better as he's younger, if that makes sense (probably not, I'm 9 hours into a 12 hour shift here).

with clarke i commend his improvement i really do, hes come on leaps and bounds but this is first time hes really improved significantly, webster did do well for us initially so i am hoping he can get back to that. either pairing will have my full support come saturday.
