Believe he gets paid to go to the matches ( If I am wrong I retract it right now, so please don't get your lawyers involved) while we pay, think that makes US the real fans and him a paid guest.

He does get paid but as far as we know it is by the BBC only.

Have always to this point maintained that SL was a good presenter BUT have today changed my mind and agree with those that have said that he is a Sisu puppet.

I shouldn't worry - any credibility he had has gone! Yesterday he hated thorn, today thorn was a master tactician!!

Basically bobby gould tweeted linnell and said your instead of you're, linnell didnt say anything. A city fan said something negative about his show and said your not you're and linnell made a point of telling them their spelling was wrong to belittle them!

There are grammar police everywhere, my point was just that the spelling was enough to point out to a mere city fan but not bobby gould!

It's a shame that this thread is longer than the Doncaster one, probably the best performance of the season. I wonder if Linnell was perceived to be pro-ACL whether this thread would exist? Would people be insisting that he was an "ACL Puppet" or not balanced?

He was clearly rattled by it and became unprofessional.

I hope he takes the trouble to listen back to the broadcast and see what we are getting at. At present he is showing a lack of insight and even handedness that someone in his position should demonstrate.

In other words he should slag off SISU at every opportunity.

Nobody is saying that!!!! All we are saying is that he should be balanced; and at present that does not seem to be the case.

That isn't what I said Grendal. He is a broadcaster, he therefore needs to be more even handed in his approach. If he were to "slag off SISU at every opportunity", that would also demonstrate a lack of even handedness and objectivity.

Basically if you don't agree with everything ACL say or do or question them in any way then you are a SISU lover

Fortunately we are past the useless blubbering piece of lard. However isn't it interesting that the majority of those who craved administration also worshipped the ground thorn walked on. What does that say?

If you mean me, then I neither craved administration nor worshipped the ground Thorn walked on; I crave owners other than SISU and my defence of Thorn was based on SISU doing their best to guarantee relegation. Or do you think that signing nobody and having Ken Dulieu in the dugout was a good idea?

relegation was inevitable because of 'statistics' according to Grendel so it didn't matter a jot that Delieu embarrassed our club in Grendel's world

I'm curious on WHAT BASIS are most fans NOT opposed to SiSU - where has he got his info from?

Generally to prove a point of fact, you either refer to polls, or statistics, Where are these facts that back up his claim?

Certainly from this forum, it is on fairly thin ground to say that most AREN'T opposed to sisu!

Certainly from the limited # of polls generated, that doesn't back his hypothesis either!

So WHERE has he got his facts from? or is it just his own baseless opinion? Certainly it is very dodgy to say as fact that most fans support sisu IMHO!! But I COULD be wrong

If it is his belief then its faith and faith alone - fine. Certainly he didn't produce much evidence tonight as I heard it !

I seem to have struck a very sensitive nerve tonight. As for calling me a coward - has HE served his country? I have!

Has HE served in Kuwaut? - I HAVE!

When he has served his country, and seen colleagues die, and friends injured THEN he might have the right to call me a coward. Until then are you Mr Linnell going to retract the implication that I am a coward because I didn't speak to you on the phone? How is that cowardice? Would you Apologise? Somehow I very much doubt it!

Surely my words are written - I cannot say I didn't say them - how is talking on a phone any braver? Perhaps instead of accusing me of being a coward, put YOUR words IN WRITING! you called me a coward on air - that alone is disgraceful from a supposed professional broadcaster with so many years of experience! To dare someone - I stopped daring people when I left school!

I certainly don't have to answer to someone who has never potentially put their life at risk! (or has he served his country as well? - his profile doesn't say so)

Will you apologise for calling me a coward? Will YOU retract THAT statement on air?

Certainly I strongly feel that he is NOT representing the views of the listeners overall!!
Certainly his response to callers / texters who disagree, are dealt with in a dreadful way on occassions IMHO
He has a RIGHT to his opinions - but SO DO THE LISTENERS = and SO DO I !

How DARE he imply that because we don't agree with his view we aren't real fans! To me it was just childish - certainly not the standard of broadcasting I would and should expect from a freelance broadcaster with 43 years (started 1970) experience!

According to wiki Mr Linnell "is a conference moderator and facilitator and he also hosts awards events and black-tie functions" is this correct?

If not I retract a quote from wikipedia!

Lets see if he has the courage to apologise for calling me a coward on air, the same that he felt able to make threats and insult LIVE ON AIR!

DISGRACEFUL

If you don't like insults, don't insult yourself Mr Linnell!

99% want new and better owners, but I wouldn't say we are all 100% in the Sisu out - pro ACL camp. And that's the problem this whole saga is being played out as anti-Sisu-pro-ACL vs pro-Sisu-anti-ACL and its not that simple.

And just because you want new owners, doesn't necessarily mean you want rid of Sisu at all cost. There are a lot of grey areas, and a lot of fans waiting to see how this all pans out before choosing sides.

But no one would start a thread about it. It's not nothing to do with objectivity, but the fact he doesn't side with the "popular" view.
