I disagreeFor all his faults, Simms is a much better option than BTA.
However neither are going to get us out of this league.

He was in acre's not long after he came central defenders 10metres away either side,da Silva time on the ball nah safe pass backwards, does my head in!Kyogo was everything BTA wasn’t last night.
for me you have EMC and Wright rotating on the left and Simms and a quality 9 for the striker role
Brau cannot be backup LW
Actually, I think Tavares' footballing brain and composure coupled with BTA's physique and energy would probably make for a quality Championship striker. There doesn’t seem to be a lot between BTA and Tavares.
I don’t disagree- if we could recoup anything and get his wage gone it would be a result.6 in the cup. His record in the league fit us now 18 in 89 and they were scored in 14 games. For the other 75 out of 89 he didn't score in three wasn't a lot of positives. I'd happily move him on if we could get someone who wanted him. I was hoping Robins at Stoke but they scored 3 today.
Tavares had energyActually, I think Tavares' footballing brain and composure coupled with BTA's physique and energy would probably make for a quality Championship striker.
So is my reply !Its a joke. He's on about Tavares
whoops my mistakeSo is my reply !
Thought Tavares was just a bit lightweight, and his technique was generally fine.Tavares had energy
The first touch of both is what prevents them from being quality championship strikers.
Either that or we don’t want to pay to £1 million bonus for 100 games.Simms has to be on the transfer market surely?
Got to agree. Hull have had Lampards pants down twice where tactically they have out played us by forcing us to do what they want in the last two matches against them. We’ve just played into their hands with no plan B.We don’t need a striker. We need a frickin change in tactics. IMHO.
This. I said at the time we play a system that doesnt favour Strikers. I was told that when Wright was back it would prove that was not the case. I was right again.I think any striker would look bad in this team at the moment. Bar Wright vs Sunderland I don’t think we’ve seen another good striker performance since we swapped to this system.
Says the bloke with the biggest chip on his shoulder when it comes to SimmsI disagree

You mean the same Simms who is now third choice striker?Says the bloke with the biggest chip on his shoulder when it comes to Simms

NomsenseThe only way we're going to move Simms on is buy letting him go for free, no Club Is Gonna pay any money out for that donkey. Not one of Mark Robins finest moments.
Very odd, how he will not play simms, who has had a full pre season. Refused to put him on at Sunderland too, when he should have.Wright didn’t look fit to me, limped around at times.
He has the capability if we get Maidstone in the cup againSimms scored 19 goals in the 23/24 season, Wright got the same.
So they both have the capability. Does there come a point where you question coaching?
As we have questioned why we've had multiple goalkeepers come in as competent players and regress to the point they can barely stop a shot if we have multiple forwards who can't score on a consistent basis is there a problem on the coaching side?
If we are going to whack crosses as our only way of scoring we should have gone and tried to sign someone like Keiffer Moore
The importance of wingers is demonstrated by the one period we looked like turning the screw on Hull was when EMC had a 10-15m patch where he was running at his man, taking him on and shooting/crossing.Frustrating. BTA goal side of defender (albeit in tight situations) when ball played but his control let him down at least three times.
Our crosses were poor. Three of our players in the box with the defence back peddling and we pick out a defender or over hit it.
JDS played well today, but the one time he gets away, he blasts the ball across near no one. MVE doesn't get past their first man or passes it behind our strikers.
Teams are going to defend deep against us. They have worked us out.
Totally agree re wingers. I’d take a centre half and 2 wingers (ideal if one can play 10 role also)The importance of wingers is demonstrated by the one period we looked like turning the screw on Hull was when EMC had a 10-15m patch where he was running at his man, taking him on and shooting/crossing.
We don’t have that and didn’t have it when he came off.
It’s boring that we’re talking about strikers, we’ve got 3 strikers in the squad capable of hitting double figures in a season. 20+ goal a season strikers in the championship are the exception, not the rule.
Meanwhile, the starting line up today had 15 goals between them last season and BTA was the most prolific. Rudoni had a modest 10 goals last season (good for his position) and was comfortably our top goal scorer. The solution is staring everyone in the face and no, it’s not sign another striker.
If we’re going to go wide so often, we really need the numbers to actually do that. Wingers aren’t going to play 90m every game because it’s the most dynamic and explosion position on the pitch. As we seen today, 1 sub to EMC and we’ve put 2 square pegs in that LW slot.
Matters not as Frank doesn't rate or trust him. Plus he scored 6 league goals in 43 appearances. And he doesn't dominate in the air anywhere as much as he should for his size and certainly not as much as someone like Kieffer Moore does.Who scored less headed goals than Simms last season.
Agree. BTA is marginally better than Simms but neither are top notch.I disagree
However neither are going to get us out of this league.
It must be if he plays again it triggers another payment?.. surely you would bring him on today?..nothing to lose!!..
Said exactly the same leaving the game. I really hope that that has triggered some phone calls to some agents and clubs tonight but im not convinced there is any acknowledgment of an issue.Weve not remedied any of our issues from last year bar GK
