I feel less nervous than the Wrexham game for some reason. I know it doesn’t mean anything but it seemed we all knew we’d fail up there. This feels different even though Stoke are a much better side than Wrexham. I guess it seems like the mojo came back in the second half on Tuesday and maybe without the tension of the unbeaten run it feels more relaxed. It’ll be tight I think. 2-1

Very winnable game coming out of the break too, especially if Mason is still there.
We can always have a stinker of course but in general it will take something very impressive to beat us at home. In the league last season Leeds were on another level but let’s be honest Collins is the only thing that cost us against Burnley.

Away though we’ve only looked dodgy with half a team’s worth of imposed changes. Very interested to see how we set up today with everyone available except Rudoni.

Think we all knew with the players we had missing there was the potential to go wrong.

Should be full strength today. They've started well, win here and it really puts down a marker.
Think also when your undefeated the fear for first loss is worse. One because you lose the unbeaten streaks but two the unknown of how you will react

Re Wrexham, we also shouldn’t downplay the fact there was clearly an illness going round the camp, so I suspect a few weren’t 100%.

That will make a difference, especially at our level. Cliche, but small margins and all that.

Definitely a tough game ahead today, I’d take a draw but the optimist in me is expecting performances to start clicking again, starting this afternoon, so a City win.

Good point re: illness

Mentioned it earlier in the thread, but definitely looking forward to an away day.

Found a craft beer pub which is open near the station so heading there before a more game day pub.

Where are people heading / what are the away pubs today?

Today's Guardian. In Macs. But leaving now as Google Maps said it's going to take a couple of hours. Madness. 20251108_110840.jpg

Lineup predictions (leaks??)

Not sure about BTA starting centrally. But suspect it might be the case.
I think we have to start EMC, BTA and Saka so only way to fit them all in is to play BTA centrally. Will be interesting to see who misses out when Rudoni is fit

Lampard certainly didn’t sound happy with EMCs performances when he was talking about him the other night. Saying that’s what we want from him all the time. If I had to guess it would be BTA on the left and that’s why we’re looking at LWs in the window.

I don't agree, he saw what we saw and wanted to get 3 in midfield and thought BTA was undroppable so had to find him a place in that front 3. It didn't really work and I'd expect the team that started the second half to start this game.
We've done well without Rudi but it will sure be nice to have him back.

Looking at Stoke"s 5 goal demolition of Bristol last weekend. 4 of the 5 goals they scored all came from attacks down their right wing, so I'd expect Frank to tighten our left side up to deny them the freedom that Bristol gifted them.

But im not too worried, as the defending from Bristol was truelly shocking. They practically gifted them all 5 goals.

It was much more a case of demanding the most from emc every week rather than being angry

Like a confidence boost. Look what you did mate. Nothing tos top you doing that every single time you step on pitch

Just high standards

Unless Wright bucks himself up today there’s an argument for pushing BTA higher instead of Wright and Rudoni in behind. It’s pivotal for me that EMC and Saka play on the flanks.
