It’s simple. When they’re posted a lot we’re doing well.Wish I understood all these stats
WTF does he drive?Hope Rudoni makes a 15-20 min cameo appearance and gives everyone a lift.
Or a portable toiletThe Braille is probably to let them know its a lift and not a traffic light
If it happens again this year I’m going to block everyone in SunderlandI forgot, a pandemic that closes the league at this point. Team currently on top declared champions.
But surely you have to take into account other factors. For example a player might be 6 yards out but have four or five players between him and the goal wheras another time be one on one with the keeper or have an open goal.See this is the root cause of your skepticism, you don’t understand how they are generated but briefly no, they are not arbitrary.
xG is based on the statistical likelihood of scoring based on the position on the pitch the shot was taken. A shot within a few yards of goal has a high xG, 0.7 maybe, you could still blaze it over but on average you’re more than likely to score than not.
Stoke won a game 1-0 with a shot with an xG of 0.01. It was from far out and wide, presumably a cross that drifted in. So yeah, in an individual games it just tells you how good the chances you created were but over the course of a season things will revert to the mean.
It's only a Peugeot 5008!He must have a big car
Winning would perhaps be more impressive than a win at DeepdaleTough fixture, Stoke’s home form has been impressive.
1-1. If we win at the weekend, it feels like we’ll be unstoppable this year.
We do have a good record thereWinning would perhaps be more impressive than a win at Deepdale
We could have snuck into the Stoke end for this one courtesy of the in-laws...We do have a good record there
Wonder if they’ll sell any tickets
And get a yellowKitching to score the winner and then celebrate in front of Mark Robins. 🩵
PNE’s home record is second only to us! Our games this side of Christmas is a bit gauntlet.Winning would perhaps be more impressive than a win at Deepdale
It won't stop us going up there next month. Every year, until we win...PNE’s home record is second only to us! Our games this side of Christmas is a bit gauntlet.
If we’re top of the table come 5th Jan, it would take some capitulation to not go up automatically.
Phuk all. What are the chances of finding a bar in Phuket to watch this?
You in Patong? I went to the Aussie bar down Bangla earlier this year and they put our game on when I asked. What are the chances of finding a bar in Phuket to watch this?
We all live and hope for the day we break the Deepdale curse. Robins couldn’t do it so if Lampard does… he needs a knighthood and statue. It won't stop us going up there next month. Every year, until we win...
0% for meWhat are the chances of finding a bar in Phuket to watch this?
Yes and no. You’ve answered your own question in that it averages out.But surely you have to take into account other factors. For example a player might be 6 yards out but have four or five players between him and the goal wheras another time be one on one with the keeper or have an open goal.
I guess the idea is that over millions of shots it averages out, but I still don't think it would properly represent the actual chance a player has.
Also on a side note I've always hated the shape of the penalty area. Get fouled right on the byline on the edge of the box - pen even though the chance of scoring are quite low. Inside the D, just a free kick even though it's almost certainly go a higher likelihood of going in. Maybe we could use xG to reform the shape of the penalty area, say anything over 0.5xg is inside the penalty area?
Done isn’t it ?We all live and hope for the day we break the Deepdale curse. Robins couldn’t do it so if Lampard does… he needs a knighthood and statue.
He doesn't drive, with those hoof ers he was wearing the other night he carries the lads on his backWTF does he drive?
No we beat them at the cbs under Lampard. Lost last season there under Robins 2-1 I think?Done isn’t it ?
1-0 with a legitimate equaliser bizarrely chalked offNo we beat them at the cbs under Lampard. Lost last season there under Robins 2-1 I think?
The kind of handball decision VAR was made for1-0 with a legitimate equaliser bizarrely chalked off
The Athletic did an article after our game v QPR because we scored 7 from an xG of 1.27 and the bit about Torp's first goal suggests things like that are taken into account (the article of anyone's interested: https://archive.ph/zHlcn)But surely you have to take into account other factors. For example a player might be 6 yards out but have four or five players between him and the goal wheras another time be one on one with the keeper or have an open goal.
