We had 638 pages in the “25/26 Summer Transfer Window” thread, much of it complaining about the squad.

And look what it motivated them on to! Keep it up lads!

Frank is a more inspiring manager than robins that’s the difference

feel that players trying to impress him all the time because of pedigree and career
Robins was making the excuses all the time for games like this. Lampard doesn’t.

Part of it will of course be the players trying to impress…but just think Lampard has higher standards. No bullshit about tiredness or illness we just play to win now.

MR got loads out of teams here, often more than the sum of their parts. With this current group though it does look like he struggled to 'get' them as a group compared to the likes of Godden, McF, COH etc

Stoke manager Mark Robins told BBC Radio Stoke:

“I think the manner of the defeat is even more difficult to take. I’m disappointed with the result, I’m not disappointed with the effort we showed – the lads have given everything and we’ve been really competitive.

“I can’t remember any clear-cut chances that they had – there was some good play but they play for corners, long throws and put you under pressure that way. We didn’t mark properly from the long throw and we got punished for it, that’s the disappointment for us.

“In terms of overall play, it was pretty nip and tuck but we had the best chance of the game with Mill (Manhoef) right in front of the goal from a Sorba Thomas cross and we didn’t take it.

“That was huge – had we taken that, it could have been slightly different. I thought one or two were off it today, we didn’t get enough of a spark when we needed that.”

With respect to MR, there was only one team playing for set pieces today and it wasn't us.

Stoke fans picking off people in replica shirts after the game

Couldn’t care less if Robins manages them, fucking wank club and wanker supporters - hope they fail miserably
Pretty pleased we didn't sneak in the home end all things considered, it'd have been impossible for me to stay muted when that goal goes in

I didn't think we played for corners or long throws, stoke just kept giving them to us

The thing for me is, that looked just like a City team under Robins 2 years ago!!

slow build up and shot shy, but under frank we are so much more fluid and aggresive.
