Woolfenden for a player that calls himself cultured is a very safe and slow passer, awful

Said all along I wasn’t keen on us signing him and I wanted someone better. He doesn’t appear to be a player that’s better than what we had, I wanted an upgrade.

Would have much prefer Ronnie Edwards for a similar fee

Oh well. Not really that bothered. Made 8 changes, beaten by a wonder goal. Few positives to take from that in that our backups competed with an almost full strength Stoke side. Yang & Esse look decent additions. If Hadji takes the easiest chance of the match we go on to win.

Hard to take any positives from the game at all if it finishes like this, you are deluding yourself if you think otherwise

Apart from the two new guys looking decent, apart from Andrews getting good minutes and looking decent, apart from resting a few first teamers a bit, apart from not having to play more games than we need to to win the league, apart from picking up no more injuries, apart from having Allen back in the squad, apart from the cup serving as 1 match of Thomas's ban.

Other than that, you're spot on.

The new lads looked ok, Andrews looks like he might be a very decent player, but a single moment apart, it feels like we're carrying Wright with Rudoni not much better.

Im actually really disappointed. I hate fielding weakened teams in the cup. It pisses me off. I like a cup run and it feels like we didn’t try. Deserved to lose but the fault lies with Lampard for not trying. A win would have been better for the general mood. What’s that now, 2 wins in 8? Poor show

My worry was that we looked worse with saka and emc coming on. Not as direct
