There's a documentary being made called 60 Days In. Airs in the US in March.

They've taken regular, innocent, members of the public and put them in prison. None of the prison staff know, they have been told the documentary is about regular prisoners. They've been given complete back stories etc. They even gave them a safe word, if they said it the documentary makers would get them transferred out of the prison.

Looks like it's based on an experiment where they get some normal people as guards, some as mates. Looks based on a true story.

It's a film!

It is entirely real and showed the investigators that people put in charge of prisoners often abuse their authority since their control cannot be disputed, while the prisoners unite against them. It went so much further than those who planned the studies anticipated.

I'm sure I read about studies on compassion and found that most people are capable of really bad stuff. In fact remembered it was in a exhibition in Sarajevo about the Bosnian atrocities and it was explaining how people react

Not seen this film but the original experiment is shocking stuff. Believe they had to call it off when it started going too far. Goes to show - dress anyone up in a uniform & they soon start believing in their own power & superiority.
