Ive been to the museum up in Ulverston I think it is. Its the house next door to where Stan grew up. You go in and are met by an old chap who takes you into the parlour and there are some old cinema seats to sit in and watch various films etc. Then you can have a wonder around and see various artefacts like curtains form Stans house in America etc. The guides are very knowledgeable and its worth a visit. Theres a Laurel and Hardy pub in town and do great meals 2 for 1.
I bought this book whilst there its a great read and at the bottom of each page has a funny line from the films. Such as "Honesty is the best politics".

Will definitely give it a look and would love to go to the place in Ulverston.
I'm going to be nearby for a while next week. I've provisionally added the museum to the itinery.
