I hope we return to our occupied ground in the next 12-18 months. However if this standoff between CCFC and the insects goes on we will need to eventually build a ground to call home.

In this eventuality what facilities would you like any potential ground to have to make it a great day out?

1. Excellent transport links that work on match days

2. A few pubs and resturants and hot built into the fabric of the stadium (like the O2 of you have been) this will bring in non sporting events.

3. 16,000 seats and 12,000 safe standing terraces

4. A betting shop or casino

5. Huge car park

6. Residential property near the ground to help pay for the project

Curious from all the away games readers on here have been to what have they seen and where work really well and something we should consider if the need arises.

A decent location, given how much Friargate has stalled I'd take the patch of land bound by the Ring Road, Warwick Rd, Grosvenor Rd and Westminster Rd if the space was sufficient.

There has to be a site near cov airport, on the a45 between allesley and birmingham airport etc. all this anti wasps stuff is very valid, but in my opinion, the council have got off very lightly with this, surely they should have by now identified a site the club could buy and build on ?

I got a bit of stick for saying this, but it is pointless if CCFC identify somewhere, then the Council veto it. Even if we have to pay some costs, the Council could at least say ' we would approve Site A, B or C' to help get things moving.

I don’t care about the site so much but I hope they wouldn’t get stupid on the capacity- needs to be 25k-30k if it’s going to be for Championship/ Premiership, if they want to start at 20k then build on after promotions etc then that would be sensible enough I guess, and easily done. I know it’s been vetoed but the Butts would be perfect for me.

23k too low unless you can add on. Depends what division you’re talking about- now 23k ok, but if we went up there would be people locked out too many times, with all the momentum and recent success. And if miracles did happen and we found ourselves in the top division, 23k way too low.

Preston bottled it a bit with their ground- the design is based on Gregotti's works, the one most well known is Sampdoria's, but also Nimes in France- the theme being four separate stands with distinct corners- Preston elected not to finish it off the same as the others & have the symmetry & same sized stands, they instead build a really low stand with loads of boxes, huge let down really. But its a great design alright, especially for the stadium nerds such as my good self.

The Ricoh is a 'big event' ground- compared with the other new grounds its great when its got a big crowd, but its not fit for League One or a mediocre Championship side with all kinds of crap going on to unsettle things, meaning you rarely get a big crowd. I'd guess that if we went up this season- take away the whole St Andrews thing- and we'd be looking at 20k or so average. With the 'product' of the Premier League you can add 5k again to that with sell outs for the big games.

I don't understand, and I am ignorant to the rules- if a plot was found and it complied with 'the rules', could they stop a new ground going up? I have no idea.

cause the thought of renting someone elses ground with no non match day revenues is far from idea for our medium / long term future

Yes the Luigi Ferraris in Genoa is really iconic, I still think 23000 would be ample but with room to expand. Like you said it's a pipe dream really but we can always dream!

23k with room to expand would be perfect for us right now. Sampdoria’s is one of my favourites- check out Stade Oceane in Le Havre as well for about the best of the ‘bowl’ designs, problem there is that others identical to it have popped up, but it’s a great ground.

That’s why I was disappointed when Preston didn’t finish off the design and built that stupid little stand, they didn’t follow through with what was a brilliant idea. It’s been a while since I went to Deepdale, is it an atmospheric place? I think last time I was there a fan attacked Magnus Hedman, it was a joke of a game.
