No panic. The EFL will give us an extension until halloween to sort out where we're playing. #covexit

I think that will mask the true issue. We will need a bit of a sweetener.

Shame the capacity of Solihull Moors is only 3,050.
I know the crowds at a ground share, regardless of where it is, would take a hammering, but I think there’d be an awful lot of games where 3,050 would not be adequate.

What a massive kick in the nads this will be to our progress as a club.
As usual, no one involved is able to prioritise anything beyond entrenching their own agenda
Can’t understand why the council won’t at least say, “right, if you’re serious, let’s sit down and talk about a viable plot in the city”.

I suspect the EFL already know that we've agreed a ground share if we can't stay at the Ricoh so no need for an expulsion meeting. Just they will set us a final date for Ricoh or somewhere else so they can set fixtures.

But it won’t be just finding a ground to use will it, the EFL will want proof and plans regards building a new stadium and how long it will take, we haven’t got a site yet. Last time Fisher gave all sorts of promises to the EFL about building a ground but it didn’t happen.

You’ve been wrong every time on this and will be wrong again - they will bend over and do what the club owners want

This isn’t about our long term future at the moment it’s about where we intend to play next season.

Seems like every stadium that has been mentioned has a better pitch! Still obviously would want us at the ricoh, whatever state the pitch is in

It bloody well is about our future, can’t you see it. Despite the so called ground we have in the pipeline nothing has come out yet has it. We are in a pickle imo. The rules are quiet specific, on having long term plans etc. While I think the EFL will be flexible that will only be to a point. Any plans to build a stadium should properly be drawn up and ready and waiting to be viewed, just waiting to confirm a plot.

It won't come out yet, will it?

"our future"?

No surprise that the people who don't bother to go anyway while we play in Coventry will be most outraged.

Wimbledon ground shared with palace, long term. Never had a stadium plan. They are just interested in whether or not we can fulfil our fixtures or not. Nothing more

The football league vote was about expelling a team with no ground to play in next season. No we’ve agreed a groundshare it’s not necessary. The meeting wasn’t abou the future sustainability of the club.

Would you like me to highlight meeting so you’re clear?

Exactly.

It's probably the same as strange accounts were obsessing about how the accounts could never be filed, now it's that a groundshare won't be allowed without plans for a new stadium!

It's as if certain sides didn't think the accounts were going to be filed and that the EFL wouldn't allow a groundshare so the strange accounts are now shitting themselves.

Expect the EFL to be sympathetic
Everyone knows that the innocent party in all this is CCFC who are caught between a group of horrible Hedge Funds and an obstructive council
Providing we have a written agreement for the option of a ground share with a host club they won't boot us out and the fixtures will be computed
Dulwich Hamlet were locked out of their ground part way through last season and had to quickly find a ground share with another local club
They weren't ejected from the National League or punished as they were seen as victims

See below from Sunday's programme;

However we are in advanced talks with other clubs about groundsharing next season, to enable the Club to fulfil fixtures if necessary, and are now working on commercial terms with clubs

It sounds as if City are just dotting the I's and crossing the T's on sharing a ground for next season - despite maintaining hope they can remain at the Ricoh.

Its been reported that one goundshare agreement is in place but it isn't the clubs preferred option so other options are still being pursued. Try and keep up.

If we play Burton but are ground sharing at Burton, who will be the home team?

Will the Burton fans have to stand in the away end of their own stadium?!

Pretty simple really as they are played twice. So one would be us, one would be them.

Surely they can't draw up plans until they have a plot of land. The size of that plot will determine the layout of the stadium, car parks etc.

Nuneatons or Rugbys ground with a Gillingham style temporary "scaffold stand" would be ideal for me.
Getting to home games in a short time-frame would at least feel like a home game - cant image travelling 50 miles every other week for a home game!
This would prove too expensive for most fans and every game would feel like an away trip so its Nuneaton or Rugby for me if I had the choice.

St Andrew's is nearest professional club gets my vote.

EFL Update:

General
EFL Statement: April Board update

Just now

@EFL

COVENTRY CITY

The EFL Board is still to receive a definitive application from Coventry City in respect to where the Club plans to stage its home matches in the 2019/20 season.

The Club continues to work with a number of relevant parties, as they attempt to seek a solution that satisfies the EFL.

An Extraordinary General Meeting of Clubs has been convened to consider their expulsion from the League on 25 April if they are unable to satisfy the EFL Board.

The EFL understands that it is the Club’s preference to extend their stay at the Ricoh Arena for future seasons and this would meet the EFL’s ultimate objective of ensuring they continue to play in the city of Coventry on a long term basis.

I think an announcement from the club today is unlikely. 25th April is the true deadline but as long as we have agreement to play at a ground, be it the Ricoh or elsewhere, I can't see the EFL kicking us out. Then it's a case of getting fans on board and selling season tickets. I would renew if it were a groundshare but might be less bothered to go midweek if it's Burton or Northampton.

No but they should be putting more pressure on the council and wasps to engage in talks
