Not surprising. The vague stadium partnership with no specific plot of land mentioned seemed to signal that some sort of public agreement was needed for EFL to sign off on another ground share. They needed to see some sort of meaningful progress to a stadium solution.

Are you suggesting that the stadium suggestions are purely to appease the EFL to allow a continued ground share ?

I think the timing was but not the intent. If that makes sense. Usually a public announcement like that would not come until a specific plot of land was identified as the intended site. So, it felt a little premature. I don’t doubt the ultimate intention though.
