Regarding numbers. In 1978 at the World Cup, the Argentina squad were numbered from alphabetically. Hence there was a number 1 playing outfield.
The egos of some players regarding their squad number just seems a bit ridiculous at times.

I recently had to pick numbers for players for our new under 10s kits... the egos exist there too... not the players, but the dads

Well we would have to shed one then, as there are 26 players listed and only Howley is under 21. So we already have a squad of 25.
