Keepers

Murphy

Ireland

Comments: if someone comes in with an offer of £150k for Murph, I would snap their hand off. Not counting on it though. Dunn must be wondering why he joined us last year, especially given Joe's reluctance to actually catch the ball!

Defence

Herman
Wood
McPake
Cameron
Clarke
Hussey
Christie
Willis
Henderson
Comments: I am guessing here that Cranie and Keogh will move on. If both leave, we will need another centre back, but if only one goes than we should be OK.

Midfield

McSheffrey
Deegan
Baker
Bell
Bigi
Thomas
Comments: presuming that Clingan goes and we don't re-sign Norwood, we'll need a couple of extra bodies here - probably a solid central player as well as a nippy wide player, although ROD can fill in on the flanks

Attack:
McDonald
Platt
Jeffers
ROD
Comments: it's clear that Cody will be the main man, we need to resist any offers for him. Expect Jeffers and Platt to alternate as his main strike partner, with ROD coming off the bench and filling in due to injuries. We really need another striker though.

All this may be academic given the embargo, but with McPake and ROD returning, and fitness of others permitting, we have a reasonable side and should be OK for next season. Don't expect a promotion party though!

I think if rod is in the squad we are in real trouble. We need a powerful striker to partners Cody and a few new midfielders as our midfield is poor. Defence is okay for league 1

i think the squad will change a lot as SISU will strip every player that is worth somthing.. even the kids and again they will not replace like for like..

Big changes are needed that squad doesn't have the right attributes (I.e. strength, power, pace, stamina or goals) to finish mid table. Major restructuring is required to even compete.

Agree, but under embargo we can't sign anyone (not that we have the money to do so anyway). Clingan, Keogh, Cranie, Eastwood and maybe Murphy will go, but apart from RK, what club is going to pay transfer fees for our players? Would you even spend £50k on Baker after his performance yesterday?

These are my thoughts

Keepers

Murphy
Dunn
Ireland - out of contract at the end of the season, and has been injured for pretty much 3 years. Needs to go.
Burge

Need to keep murphy as you need an experienced keeper in this league .

Defence

Herman - out of contract at the end of the season. We shouldn't renew he will be 39 a far too old.
Wood - plagued by injuries, only been fit enough to play 50% of league matches in 2 1/2 years, high earner - should be offloaded, we've got too many injury prone players.
McPake - wants to go back to Scotland and I think will leave at the end of the season.
Cameron - another who has suffered with injuries this season
Clarke
Hussey
Christie
Willis
Henderson

We should try and keep Keogh but he will probably go as will wood, McPake and Herman. I think we will need two big strong centre backs and a back up left back

Midfield

McSheffrey
Deegan - injury prone, has only been for enough to play about 30%of the league games since signing. Need to off load
Baker
Bell - injury prone, like wood has only played 50% of league game in 2 1/2 years. I would off load
Bigi
Thomas

We need 2 strong physical CMs and 2 strong but pacy wide men. A midfield containing both Sheff and baker will be completely bullied.

Attack:
McDonald
Platt - I wouldn't renew, he doesn't score enough or look like he might score to be an effective super sub.
Jeffers - He's 20 now, so should either be good enough to be pushing for a more prominent role, or should be offloaded
Wilson - see Jeffers
ROD - will be in the last year of his contract, should be off loaded

3 strikers are required, power, pace and goals are needed

all in all.

1 LB
2 CB
2 CM
2wide men
3 strikers

10 players needed minimum.

If you look at Charlton, and the two Sheffield clubs they have actually signed 20+ players each this season both permanent and loan signings.

Out
Cranie
Platt
Clingan
Herman

In
x 1 LB
x1 CB
x 3 CM
x 2 Winger
x 3 striker
Minimum needed, x2 CB if Keogh leaves.

I think we missed platter yesterday we needed height in the box for the crosses, hmm the squads a worry as we really have no depth to cover for injuries and suspensions,

I'd love for us to get in 10+ players with pace, power and ability - but can you see it happening? I can honestly see us only adding 3-4 players but at least none of them should be keepers this time!

Perhaps a tad harsh on Wilson. He was sent to Tamworth to gain experience and has been injured all season. We have no idea what he can do or how good he is.

I didn't mean to be harsh Otis. Next season he and Jeffers will be the same 'school' age as Nimely and Norwood so they really need to be pushing for the first team if they are going to be still here. All I'm saying is that a decision might need to be made.

I agree we don't know how good he is.
