We froze season ticket prices when after the club had the season it did, it made sense to cash in. So charging a bit extra for in-demand cup matches, I have no qualms with. It's likely going to be a 1 in 50 match - odds our that we have more draws like Oxford at home than Tottenham or another Top 6 team.

The club fundamentally got it right on the big thing that matters: season tickets. That's where loyal supporters got a small reward for our continued support and at the same time attracted new supporters.
Fair enough respect your opinion, but if you really think the club need to charge extra then I think you’re mistaken there. I think the demand for this game is getting slightly ridiculous from some fans, it’s midweek, in a cup that nobody really cares about and will likely be playing a second string spurs side. The thing is, the CBS won’t be a sell out now, which is disappointing. A lot of families will be priced out of going.

I think there’s this illusion that the clubs on the poverty line still, which it isn’t. Just ripping off families/supporters.

Don't get this, you don't have to buy food for everybody and can park somewhere cheap.

Getting food and drinks for 4 is going to be more than the cost of a ticket.
Indeed-or make a few sandwiches 🥪

Prices are fine. People are just annoyed they’ve got less than a week to cough up some money to go.

Be very surprised if this is not a near sell out.
Unless we are really pants between now and then, I would still expect a big crowd. Lot of floating supporters will turn up. Hope they don't kill the atmosphere like the Chelsea match.

We only have one game between now and then.

clearly you are lying because it’s impossible

football should always be a working class sport
That’s a pretty outdated view @GIMOC

Surely football should be available to all, not just the working class, however that is defined.

The issue is that lower income families are being priced out of all elite entertainment which can’t be healthy for society. Look at the price of Oasis and Taylor Swift tickets for example.

The future is inclusion not exclusion .

The future is already here . To be honest personally I'm not bothered about the Spurs game , I will be at the Swansea game though.

Some use ticket prices as a reason not to go.

Personally I would not differentiate on price between season & non season ticket holders. Those that can't afford a season ticket are being further disadvantaged. £30 top price seems right outside of hospitality.

I’m over 50 of course I was around.

I have a different view.

The football was crap, the atmosphere depressing, everything about the club smelt of imminent non league football.

Yes the fans that attended were hard core and truly loved the club, but that didn’t compensate for all the rest of shit. I can’t tell you how many times I drove back from away matches thinking why do I do this to myself. If we are honest I wasn’t alone with that thought.

I totally agree on the primary motivation of football clubs though, it is now big business and no longer a community based sport.

Is it better to be a top 6 club in the championship winning most weeks or a bottom 5 club in the premier league losing most weeks …. Now that is a different debate and very little to do with the make up of the crowds attending the fixtures !

many would say league 2 days were great in terms of days out , the old school feel of the grounds. football was poor as was everything behind the scenes but we felt as one. we pulled together. going to Fleetwood on a Tuesday night separated the die hards from the day trippers

I had great memories from L2 and L1. some bad ones too like Forest Green but we as a fan base would still be there. the time between 2007 and 2017 was the worse experience for me and most of them years we were in the championship. same teams and grounds on a yearly basis and the football was just as bad

Fair enough. Each to their own.

give me Wolves away last season to any league 2 fixture away any day of the week.

Most people at that Oxford game were paying £17 as part of their season ticket prices to be fair.
What I meant was there was still a few thousand (not counting the away fans) not with season tickets that were happy to pay or the difference between 28k and the 22k ST holders.
Basically same single match ticket price to watch Oxford as it is to see spurs…

22k were season ticket holders. only 6k paid full whack

for this game. I would say 17k season ticket holders will take up the game which leaves 10k+ non season ticket holders to pay full whack. could be wrong but can’t see 10k arm chair fans paying that
Maybe.
We’ll see. If it was the FA Cup then it’s a bigger draw as Spurs wil likely field a ‘weakened’ team.

I think it might be better in the championship without that game killing VAR nonsense….

Just maybe, the club are considering the price of the kids tickets here as they have not rushed to put them on sale.
Perhaps it would be better received if at least under 13’s were no more than a tenner.

Away games yes, I hated home games - 7000 in a 32,000 was embarrassing and we felt and looked like MK Dons

League 2 is rightly looked back on as enjoyable because we went up

There is no doubt however if we had spent any more of a season down there the novelty would had worn off immediately, we'd have hated it and crowds would have dwindled even more

I know a couple of Bradford lads from my time living up north and they hate it and they are not a bigger club than us

A few good away days in League 2 for grounds we'd not usually visit, but overall it was pretty bleak and I don't think it would be seen positively if we weren't sitting in the Championship right now.
Some of the home games were really grim

£20 for kids is reasonably priced according to Spurs.

£25 for kids when they play Utd away.
£22 for kids when they play Newcastle.

They're EPL games, one against one of the biggest clubs in the world.
Not the Caraboa cup when they'll put out a weakened side and possibly we will as well.
