Big shift that was but got to it late, was a tad surprised that he got away with the penalty claim and did wonder about the one for us?

Apples and oranges.

Well, his stint with the first team was good minus one blip following an experimental team.

Frankly speaking, the best international managers do not tend to be elite managers from the club game. It seems England fans in particular are obsessed with having ‘elite’ managers.

I have nothing against Carsley, in fact he was one of very few who I genuinely warmed to as a possible replacement for MR.
It would just appear that the leap from a junior level of international football management to the senior level is one that the powers that be consider to be a bridge too far.
See also Peter Taylor.

Brighton's signing that Italian Coppello looks good business.
And that winger who's now played for three team's look's useful, but he won't finish the game the amount they're using him.

Is this apparent strict level of officiating at this level a benefit to these players development? Because it certainly isn't for the game in general.
Just seen Gnonto's straight red for a late challenge - Again in mine (might be an age thing) but hopefully in the vast majority of fellow observers, no more than a yellow.

And there we go again!

Well there's your one.

The last World Cup and Euro winning teams have managers who were their national team’s U21/20 team managers before. Even Southgate, for all his faults, lead to our best results in tournaments came from the U21s.

Then consider winning managers like Löw and Santos had experience in the international setup either internally or with other nations.

The managers with success at club football, like Deschamps and Mancini, wouldn’t be considered ‘elite’ in the club game when they become international managers.

Final point, Germany have tried hiring elite managers like Nagelsmann and Flick, with both of them failing to get deep into tournaments. Nagelsmann gets the BOD for losing to Spain but as a host nation…

Hiring managers with international experience seems to be a better route to success than elite club managers new to the international scene.

The FA probably panicked when Carsley lost to Greece to hire Tuchel. Carsley also gave some odd responses in the media so perhaps the senior role was perhaps too soon.
