We're going down to this. Quite like the early KO. Going to be a tough game. Would settle for a point now.

I wonder if Arma is still as fast as he was? Could give Bobby and Milan a bit of work to do, hahaha
Scienza is their danger man who links up play, threads passes and scores goals as well. Very much in the Torp mould. Arms is dangerous at this level and Azaz is another threat who’s been scoring a few of late. Fellows could be back as well. Tough match.

A clean sheet would be a good start to getting at least something. I reckon Frank will start with a back 5

We have seen very few of the Army type goals - apart from Wright being cut down and getting the guy sent off at Preston / Army used to patrol the half way line at corners and he was quick - we all seem to be back for corners these days

Same XI Or maybe Eccles in for Rudi

2-0 City - They are beatable, even in the recent games they have won they can look suspect like us at the back. If we we don't win though it's fine as long as we bounce back on Boxing day.

Probably the right call putting Eccles in for Rudoni.

Positionally he was all over the place on Saturday and we'll need to keep our shape well against Southampton, especially with the players they have in the midfield, otherwise I can see us being overrun.

Statement win to hit the big 50 ... as others have said, Wright due a big one as he improves and that sharpness returning converts into onion bag tickling 🤟

He won't drop Rudoni for Eccles, I get the feeling that, like Wright, he plays if fit regardless of form. Same side I reckon

Fancy us to come away with at least a point

Should have a strong team available though, I'm hoping Wright and Rudoni will look sharper with more mins in their legs.

I think injuries have bogged us down in recent weeks, if we could click again and get back to our previous form we can beat anyone comfortably.
Wright's looked very sharp and he's working hard but Rudi's still got some way to go. Those runs into the box are still missing, for example and while we don't have that threat it's leaving Haji a bit too isolated. I agree that the injuries have held us back recently.

They are ready made opponents for us. Not bad at going forward but struggle when teams attack them. We're certainly going to attack them with pace even if we play a more defensive game.

EMC, Tats and Wright are going to terrorise them. We just need to hope the defence does their job. Quietly confident of getting something from this game.

No high back line...or we will be ripped apart by their pace. Looking at their goals on the break in recent weeks especially charlton trying to high press with high back line were destroyed.l and others.

Keep a lowish block..we need to keep these teams quiet and trust we will have enough in attack to take our chances when they come.

Need to swallow a bit of pride...( i do get going to ipswich to try and play our game but it clealry didnt work) do we need to risk it.

We can still attack with our front 3 and use set pieces to good effect without being so open.

Huge test of lampards tactical nouse.

Id go

Wright , Simms
Rudoni,
Grimes, Eccles,
Da Silva.............MVE
KITCHING, WOLF , THOMAS
RUSHWORTH.

I think the way we play at the moment we get away with it with average teams.

Lets be honest we are still very open at the back.

Bristol coty could easily have been 3-3

We have options. So intriguing.

Gutted I can't make this one. Really unsure of how we'll do.

Normally glass half full sort of person and a lad that works for me (Saints fan) reckons we'll do them.

I'm not one to normally take a draw but I think I would here.

Really confident we'll be on 50 points by the turn of the year - this might not be the match to get us there though.

F*&k it...3-0 win.

That's his role...

To an extent, yes. But on Saturday he seemed to find himself in very random positions, and didn't look totally sure of where to be or rather where to have the most effect.

The best example which I mentioned previously being in the first half I think when he picked the ball in the LB slot when there wasn't actually any need for him to be in that pocket of space.

IMO he's not the best option against a midfield that can pass between the lines effectively and break quickly.

Southampton are a good side with home advantage. But I don’t think they are invincible. But we need to be at our best.

We have a full week to rest and prepare. Can’t see any changes to the starting eleven unless illness or injury intervene.

They way I look at it is, any points we pick up at Southampton are bonus points.
