He expects him to become a core part of the national team, the press there is expecting him to move to a team in a European top league (Like Belgium, Holland etc) so it wouldn't be a shock to him that he went to the championship instead. Though he hadn't seen it in the press or rumour pages

As you said - I think - reading and understanding Japanese text is very difficult - I knew an Australian who worked in our Japanese office and was married to a Japanese girl - he spoke fluently but he said it’s a real struggle to actually understand the written language and he’d been there 20 years
