The chances of my boss letting me knock off early because there’s football are practically zero, even if I’m sat there with no work to do because all our clients are off.

Be interesting to see how many season tickets go up for resale if / when they open the exchange and how many people are turning up late.

At what point do the EFL say no? There’s reports that Sky want Christmas Day games, what if they decide Friday night football at 6pm is a ratings winner?

Christmas Day and Boxing Day head to Head? A blast from the past. Better keep quiet about that.

Working on a match day is pretty normal for a fair number of City fans with Season tickets. I gave mine up when I was on a weird shift system years ago.

When all the kids are off, surely it’s way better to kick-off at 18.00 rather than 20.00? Personally, it works out a lot better being two hours earlier.

We were the last professional club to host a home match on Christmas Day 1959 beating Wrexham at HR. Played them at the Racecourse ground on Boxing Day too and won again.

The last Christmas Day fixture was in 1965 - Blackpool vs Blackburn.

Good excuse to escape the festivities!

Oh it would make absolute sense. Finacing it would be simple, and the flexability it would give the club very welcome. Doug would barely even need to put his hand in his pocket.

The Ipswich kick off is perfect for me as I will be starting work at 10pm and 7-45 is a bit of a push. Either way I would be there though as I would go in late I used to have a lot of flat tyres but now I just say I’m watching the football and will be in when it’s over.
