I went on some child protection/internet safety training quite a few years ago now. There was a message from that which stuck with me, which was essentially the internet came along and as a society we just “handed it over to our children”.
I kinda think the cats out of the bag now so probably little that can be done. I’m also confident the Australian children will find a way to get round things.

Yeah I'm fairly sure of it but it's having a beyond the norm effect that they just won't reign it in.
In retrospect I think it has to be a Govt choice.

It's supposedly about grok giving out sexualised image's of young children,at least that's the reason they're giving out,it maybe other facets who knows, doubt they'll succeed anyway.

I would love for this to be brought in here. The future generations are fucked . All lazy anxious and quite frankly dumb laughing at brain rot nonsense online. Also no empathy because desensiised to everything be it violence or sex.

But even our generation who should know better fall into doom scrolling

I have deleted all social media and get on my phone less and less and feel much better.

SBT is the only thing I check more than I should still

I came of age when the internet was in its ascendancy and my parents very much didn't know what to do about it, I don't think any but the most savvy parents really did. I thank who or whatever is in charge of our fates on this planet that Facebook, WhatsApp, Instagram and the like weren't around when I was a socially struggling teenager, seeing all the events I wasn't invited to, being cyberbullied, finding out WhatsApp groups were being set up without me would have been pretty fucking difficult to deal with.

Yep kids in their late teens are already being overwhelmed
We’ve really let them down
Even my lovely kids who use their social media pretty wisely talk about how it’s not helpful
