No one questions his achievement last season and his management of an almost impossible situation.

It cannot though be ignored that he did have the two most prolific strikers in the league. His defensive strategy was poor and would have relegated most teams even without the 10 point penalty.

Now despite trying to set the team not to concede they still look fragile. His signing record is woeful and he seems to be falling out with key players.

Arguably however, his defensive strategy was poor because he was playing to his team's strengths.

Point to note, that when Pressley came here, he originally intended to play only one up front. On seeing Clarke and Wilson, he decided to change his mind.

Maybe he's not as inflexible as he appears just atm or (more worryingly) maybe the security of his contract makes him more stubborn...

True, but I'd argue that he allowed them to be prolific rather than it being something that would just have happened regardless.

The same kind of thing was said about Mark Robins and while he'll always be on my shitlist, I similarly don't buy the argument that he only did well because McGoldrick was here and he was lucky to be swept up in the unstoppable goal machine who Forest fans mocked us for loaning.

Supporting our current manager fair enough and from what I can see or hear no one is on the terraces calling for his head, referring to him as excellent well that is a matter of opinion which you can clearly see is not shared by everyone.

Referring to people on here as "twats" that is abusive plain and simple, the thread was started to see if people genuinely have an idea who they would like to see or think could do a better job. Do you not think with our current performance that is not a reasonable question?

The difference between robins and Pressley is that Robbins would set his team up with the opposition in mind. He would not just blindly set a predictable formation in advance to allow a week for opposition to do their homework.

You could see Robins had a clear idea about how he wanted the team to play.

I couldn't attempt to even vaguely guess what Pressley is telling them, literally looks as if it's "4-4-2 today lads lets try and win".

So for me I won't give him all the credit and plaudits in the world because we were still woeful at the back and he was supposed to be a defender! Then onto this season, all the good players go, he signs 'the new breed' of the sort of player he wants at the club. What happened? all these supposed 'his type of player' turn out not to be and his tactics and decisions and signings are now all on him so he has nowhere to turn so in my eyes it is his fault.

With regard to Rowett, my business partner is a Blues lad and although it is still the honeymoon period and they will still have there ups and downs, he seems to know what he is doing, seems to know how he wants his teams to play, seems to be able to out think opposing managers despite them being supposed superior teams and seems to be able to get the best out of the players he has. Show me where Pressley can boast that?

sure It's been muted at £2.7M . though I think some have queried that ,If it were that it would be greater than last season which was said to be

£2.5M. although they may have recouped a portion of that as Clarke left In Jan .

All managers should be given time to get their own players in and get them to play the systems that they want them to. This then gives you an idea on how competent they are. How many players are at our club that were not signed by SP? How many players have we signed since he came to our club?

We have seen his plan A. Either it will not work or the players he has brought in are shit. He doesn't seem to have a plan B. We are playing games without even getting a shot on target FFS. Some of us celebrate a clean sheet. Some of us keep going on about not spending money on players as a reason for being shit. Most clubs don't spend money on signing players in Division 3. We are looking at signing Madine permanently. Most clubs in Division 3 would love a player like him. The main reason we are not getting hammered most games is that our opponents do not have a decent striker.

I don't want to see SP go. But for the future of our club he needs to go. The supporters at his last club told us that he is good at using youth players. But he makes poor signings and poor decisions. Nothing has changed. So something needs to change ASAP before it is too late. I hate my club being in Division 3. And I thought the idea of getting out of Division 3 was to get promoted. There is a chance of getting out of Division 3 this season. But not the way we all want.
