Good points, but, not relevant to my point because it would be a home you intend to keep for the your life, not what you'd develop before selling.

Can you point to one thing SISU have built?

Also, may I add, I don't think the stadium, if actually built, wold be 15k, It would have to be 20k at a minimum it can't and won't be under HR's attendance and if SISU had any intention of moving up the FL ladder, 15k would be too small.

Finally some sense SBT ;-)

I looked for sites, it is conceivable that it could be just inside the inner ring road! :)
But then the council would have to give planning permission!
Might be a long appeal!
And a lot of red faces if it was pssed!

Who is going to improve the road system & provide the parking for that, LOL

are you sure the dictionary definition of conceivable agrees with your idea of what it is..

I could tell you but its comercislly sensitive! ;)
The likelyhood is remote, but its interesting as a planning concept.
Would the city benefit from the crowds in the centre?
Its handy for the station!
The sensible idea from a planning point if view is to place it on the outskirts of the city.

Where are you going with this? Because what would SISU, or anyone for that matter, would've had to build anything?

If you mean a squad? We built a squad that was decent (Gunnar, Fox, Dann, Eastwood, Clingan, Turner, Best, Hendo team) under Coleman and this team at the minute is a top 10 L1 team easily, which has been built by SISU - last season I don't think no one can criticise SISU, no matter how 'anti-SISU' you are, for last season's transfer policies and dealings.

Whoosh.. that went right past you, built as in a building or structure..

I was going to post this in a thread from a comment by steveb50 but thought I would open it up as I think the theory behind the question is relevant to a lot of people's thought processes.

The question is;

If the football club could um August walk into a 15,000 stadium fully owned less than 4 miles from the city centre would that be better than staying at the Ricoh?

To me its 100% yes.
Surely the best scenario would be for the club to get a share of the Ricoh?

The only place within the inner ring road I could possibly think of is the old Council offices that they are moving out of soon.

Clearing that place up would cost a stadium itself.

Just outside the Ring Road is tthe Techno Centre with alot of land still around there, but stadiums just aren't and will not be built in these areas anymore. HR was built in a different era.

No. A 15k stadium in close proximity to the Ricoh will not generate enough income to be useful.

Is this hypothetical?

As in if they were not planning to move 30 miles away for three years then maybe build a 8-10 k stadium outside Coventry?

You think the council will sell for a fair price to CCFC? Bearing in mind Cllor Maton said he doesn't want CCFC to own the RICOH, just one man's comments, but, it could be reflective of the mood of the council.

Or it couldn't what is his role regarding the Ricoh?

I imagine the council just need to know over a period of time that the owners can be trusted with the Ricoh. Unlike the current ones.

You can't even get basic facts right. Everton Liverpool and arsenal I think you'll find.

Coventry legitimally were in top flight for longer than anyone apart from Everton and Liverpool in 2001, EVERYONE remember that!!!!

Yes I can get the facts right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since when was Arsenal presence legitimate?
Check the facts out . Arsenal bought their way into the league after first world war. Finished 5th in Div 2 season 1914/15 and then after the war somehow bribed there way in to Div 1 after the war when Div 1 was expanded.

Please don't question my knowledge on Coventry City!

Div 2 1914/15 Pts
1 Derby 53 Promoted
2 Preston 50 Promoted
3 Barnsley 47
4 Wolverhamton 45
5 Arsenal 43 Promoted

Even IF they went ahead and built a 15k somewhere (certainly not by aug) by the time the fans have dwindled away due to playing at (eg) walsall and a depleted fair play rules squad, plus coming out of admin docked points, means most probably relegarion to L2 ....... it would take YEARS for them to recoup what they reckon they have put in. Sisu apparently say they are in for the long haul, but thats not the way they usually work.

They need to see sense, take a bitv of a hit by selling, and move on.

Why? There is nothing to suggest that concerts will stop.

Your views but the council would be behind the Ricoh and would Make sure it did not fail. They would be bigger and better than any 15 k stadium, casino, hotel, exhibitions, conferences, concerts and I am sure some other sporting events. My thoughts are that firstly they would make sure it was no in Coventry by blocking pans and if built in Warwickshire make sure they undercut any events they try and put on or tie people up into contacts over ext few years.
The Ricoh will not fail without us, just go up there any mid week, they have things on all the time.

I agree,
We are dead if they play outside of the City.

I don't disagree, but more of the local population will go and see CCFC rather than a one-off concert every now and then.

Why? There is nothing to suggest that concerts will stop.

Yes, my views. If City didn't play at the Ricoh then I would never go there. I'm sure that's the same for many people. Never made a special journey for a conference, to go to the casino, to see a band, to stop in the hotel.

And you say that the Ricoh (or ACL) would stop the Club building an alternative stadium in Coventry. You would support that, would you?

I don't particularly want to leave the Ricoh, but if we do eventually then that would be fine by me, if the stadium was totally owned by the Club. THe football club is more important to me than a stadium we don't own.

I don't understand why ,Grendel, sbt, grego and torch want this new miniature stadium and have fallen again into Sisu bull shit land.

Do you really think Sisu want only the match day revenue ?

But what? What is going to get at least 10K people up there every other week? It's OK saying that the Council will "make sure" that it thrives, but what could they do? What is going to attract the football of a football club? That it why this whole thing is a nonsense - SISU for saying they are going to leave and ACL saying they'd survive without the club. Both scenarios are bollocks.

Not just concerts though.
Remember, the Council will back it to the hilt, they will ate sure it thrives.

Lets face it the Council cannot let the Ricoh struggle.
Am sure they would not allow another stadium to be built and it was it would take years to get planning permission, if it happens it will not be in Coventry.

I have been to two exhibitions and often go to casino so I would still visit but that's me personally.
