To be honest, there seem to be a few doing that.

No one else can be doing that as they do not own us.

Rangers did exactly the same about the time Sisu started this nonsense.
Look what happened to them.
Bring it on.

Absolutely no chance of us starting in thr conference or league two. I'm lolling at you're rangers comparison.

We would have to start again where AFC Wimbledon started which is around tier 10 of thr pyramid.

The "other side" are not having to do much for this supposed takeover though are they

Just have to say "no we wont deal with you, and you are on your own, bye"

Probably the calmest, most thoughtful thread I have read over the last week or two on both sides of the argument

Is that not the same as what CCFC said to ACL, that people got angry about?

Of course, but holding up a bank, with a hostage (knife to throat) the people you are negotiating with can, "not give in to demands" and cause you to harm the hostage, but who is holding the knife??

Really? I wish it was just as simple as that and that it was actually just that black and white.

At the minute there are quite a few knives aren't there? The last couple of weeks show that more thasn anything.

Another analogy could be if a bank takes all your cash and charges you for the privilege, you may want reformed governance at the bank and state intervention to help you.

But that way the inane circles start

Apart from the hostage being the club's academy and the stadium they play in you mean?

It is like somebody owning an industrial unit that a business relies on to trade, the landlord doesn't own the business so therefore using your theory if they change the locks one day it is the business owner's fault as the landlord doesn't own the business.

Of course people other than the owner can take hostages and cause damages, can people really not see further than that?

The only hostage is CCFC the stadium and the training center were released by the hostage takers.

is it ? I don't see any associated court cases. "we don't want to deal with you" is legal and effective but it is not aimed at CCFC it is firmly directed at SISU. Taking any guesses about how they might respond? Think I can guess

I think it is not an out right aggressive stance it is just "no we have other plans" that has consequences certainly for CCFC, our club is no longer a priority, can no longer expect any favours, literally has to stand on its own two feet (which will mean doing deals with devil to survive in the end). Does it mean there is a conspiracy to remove the owners? not sure perhaps. Pretty certain that I don't know anyone who wouldn't be glad to see SISU go though. Clubs reaction has been wounded "victim" statements that in effect burn more bridges in the hope of unity behind them from the fans - cant help feeling that they have misread that again, the fans seem as divided as ever

Released by the hostage takers? How is that then? It looks to me that the situation with higgs and the Ricoh is very much a hostage situation at the minute.

You do say that you want the industrial unit. But you are bringing court action against someone against who helped them take over the industrial unit. So they say they won't carry on with talks on you staying there unless all legal action stops. And they won't have talks on what would be agreed on if you did stop all action.

The fans have always been divided.

A good example is PWKH coming out and making that statement yesterday and "ccfc fans" congratulating him on screwing the club over and getting one up without actually knowing or considering the consequences.

Surely that industrial unit (the chance to work from there) is then a hostage, until the ransom of the legal action being stopped happens?

Does the clause stop us having an Academy then? I can tell you now it doesn't. But agree the fans should be behind the club, but I am not at all surprised they are not

Not if your hatred for the person presently renting the unit or support for the new owner comes before anything else it seems.

Then we can indeed play at the Butts alongside Cov rugby club and not need any expansion.

I assume with liquidation they would sell any assists first which for me would include the club the golden share would be worth something to someone

But knowing that SISU won't want to invest and CCC won't want to help puts the academy at great risk.

It has been stated enough times that the golden share can't be sold. It is given to clubs by the FA. And it can be taken away. It stays with the club whatever until taken away. You buy the club you get the golden share.

We discussed liquidation and the Golden Share back in 2013 - it's too long ago for my memory. But I seem to remember that the Golden Share is not a commercial product you can buy or sell. I believe it's the property of the FL and is granted to a club that ticks a lot of boxes - for instance has a place to play, players to play, fit and proper owners etc.

(Astute beat me to it)

Having now read that CET section.
I wouldn't put much credence on it.
I would base your opinions on whether people are whooping from the sides or congratulating PWKH on wha mt you see read here.

To be honest I was trying to remember as it was massively discussed.
I didn't get the feeling back then that anyone who looked at it ever concluded that liquidation would be a sensible option.
Pretty sure it was generally accepted the best fit SISU would be sell everything they could first.

That's what I am getting at when I say sell the golden share. I am effectively saying the club.

You can't really put too much value in anything posted by anonymous people on forum with no identification check. Like this board. There is no protection against people hired to promote, spin, twist or counter a debate. You don't know how many accounts people have setup just to make a lot of noise or to repeat the same argument over and over till it becomes the de facto truth (Goebbels tactics).

Doing nothing and just withholding rent are different.
