Exactly, with things like this it doesn't matter if you are anti sisu / acl etc.

As long as the fans dont bicker between themselves.

It's a shame the JR is on a working day
That would be the ultimate day (days) to do such a protest.

Hits all the players at the same time and get the maximum press coverage.

The bickering has moved on from "who is to blame ". The next is getting everyone to agree on the desired outcome.

New owners
Same owners but return to the Ricoh
Same owners new ground in Coventry
Same owners new ground near Coventry

Which one are you marching for ?

i dont get why "in our coventry homes" is never the theme / focus

If a song ever breaks out, it would be one we all identify with and can unite us.

I thought it was explained in the article quite succinctly why there is going to be a theme.

Good, it needs to be an annual event until the team is returned. It was an excellent attendance last year, lets hope we have more there this year.

If we return do we have to pay the £1.2million in rent every year or not?

Surely that was what the council valued the rent at as they charged us that for so many years? Why would they cut it?

They already have cut it - by about 80%. But not good enough for Sisu.

Have you been asleep the last 2 years?

You do know the offer on the table now is £150k, after the previous offer of £450k don't you?

You do know that ACL was restructured to allow the club to be offered a lower rent?

You do know there's a standing offer of a short term deal at less than Sixfields?

You also know that the club was offered a sliding scale when the Ricoh opened and rejected it in favour of this rent, right?

I'm not saying it was fair, but that comment is simply insane.

So how did the council justify charging £1.2million in rent? If they can cut it by 80%.

That surely doesnt make sense and has hamstrung the club for so many years?

No idea. I'm not in the know. Just not sure what a march will achieve. If its to get the club back to the Ricoh is it sustainable?

Can I politely suggest you spend a few weeks reading up on what's gone before so you don't get lynched asking questions like this?

The reasons for the original setting of the rent have been dragged over. In a nutshell:

PWKH claims that CCFC were offered a sliding scale when discussing the rent, that they chose this rent as it was the same as the cost of HR in the final year (as for how it was set) and we guess that CCFC thought they'd be back up to the Prem in no time and quids in.

PWKH also states that CCFC have never made a "serious" attempt to renegotiate the rent until last year, suggesting it's not as big a problem as some state (also CCFC themselves said it wasn't an issue a couple of years ago). There's evidence of Robinson "having a word" but nothing else. Some take this to mean PWKH is lying, I take it to mean that as stated it wasn't a full blown effort but rather a casual question (read the board meeting minutes to make your own mind up).

ACL have seriously restructured over the last couple of years, partly because of the CCFC situation but also because they were looking to expand anyway. ACL offered a rent of £450k when Sisu first asked for a reduction. Sisu rejected this as it didn't contain the F&B revenue they wanted in it's entirety. ACL initially said that was the lowest they can go then CCC restructured the debt to give lower outgoings and ACL came back with an offer of £150k (also rejected). Recently ACL have offered through the FL rent free this (last) season and (I think) £100k/year for the next two years while CCFC build a ground. This was rejected because "We can't deal with the council".

The general consensus is that the rent was high, but it's not 100% clear as to why the club agreed to it and Robinson/McGinnity isn't talking. However, the general consensus (outside of Nick and Grendel) is that when "seriously" asked the council offered a lower rent, three times, and were rejected in each case, so you've got to question the validity of CCFC's complaint IMO.

Welcome to the fun.

But you are only going on what PWKH is saying? Surely it is better for the club to own a stadium and surely it is btter for the council/acl to utilise an asset, especially now that taxpayers are paying for it?

It would be more sustainable than staying at sixfields.
