Also talk of a train station to service the uni.

REVEALED: New station plan for Coventry outskirts’ new homes and Warwick University in time for HS2

A NEW train station could be built between Kenilworth and Coventry stations to better serve Warwick University and new housing developments including at King's Hill.
coventryobserver.co.uk

Lets face it pretty much any site is going to have issues, there's nowhere in the city you could magically insert a stadium without needing to address things like transport, parking, local facilities etc.

The uni manage to get thousands of students and staff, not to mention those using the business parks, in and out every day. We all know it gets jammed up but they cope.

There's certainly enough land round there and you could move the training and academy there to have everything on one site, already some decent facilities up there they could share with the uni. Of course the land existing and being available and affordable are two very different things.

The whole thing relies on you believing SISU actually have the desire and means to build a new ground. Not sure how many people believe that. At this point I think as an absolute minimum people would want to see at least an option to purchase land pending planning permission and those plans being submitted before they even begin to believe anything is actually happening.

I’m sure I read somewhere that Warwick Uni to the City Center was likely to be one of the
two ‘first lines completed of the driver-less tram system they’r supposedly planning.
The other one being City Center to University Hospita.

Is this what you're thinking of?

Suspect that's another project where a politician, in this case WM Mayor Andy Street, makes a big announcement only for it never to be heard of again.

Six years ago a crack stadium advisory group was convened by SISU to discuss a ground that didn't exist. This stadium idea promptly went underground. Today, still discussed by SISU, the group survive as soldiers of fortune. If you have planning issues, if nobody else can help, then maybe you can hire the Stadium Advisory Group.

With the news that the UK Gigafactory will be built in Wales, and after having put all their eggs in one basket (yet again) the Council might know of a large area of land (the St Athan factory will apparently measure 1km by 500m) that has suddenly become available.

I didn't mean games, I meant on here. Didn't think I'd seen you for a while before quite recently. May just be me not paying attention.

I have no idea where the area is...my guesses would be either Ansty, or area around the airport. Sadly the report just said that the decision came down to a choice between Coventry and St Athan.

Ive said before, that in my opinion if there were to be a new stadium (very unlikely) then the area on the Baginton side of the A45 that was going to be offices for JLR (Gateway North) would be a good location

Sorry I can’t be much help

Will be more than one giga factory in uk; Tesla looking in Somerset plus area near JLR EMC also mooted for one. Bagington also likely with WMG battery center under development.

No inside knowledge but my expectation has always been we will see out St Andrews deal; Wasps will be in far weaker position then. Bizarrely Covid will potentially bring financial prudence to Football; given every govt targets slips I’m still expecting crowds 2021.
