Seems reasonable to me. We all know ccfc need their own ground.

As mentioned earlier, council have gone nuts deep with wasps/Ricoh set up and won't risk egg on face of failure now.

A nice compromise would be 50% offer on ricoh. No reason for wasps to offer us this though.

Was expecting the standard rubbish so quite surprised at this. Certainly explains why certain people have been going in to overdrive the last few days.

Well and truly puts the ball back in the council & Wasps court. For the first time, at least as far as I can remember, SISU have publically offered an olive branch. The council get onside with a new stadium and Wasps let them stay until its built.

Surely there isn't a single supporter who could disagree with that stance. Of course you can choose to believe they wouldn't follow through on it but that is inconsequential. It is now for the council & Wasps to step up.

Will be interesting to see their responses.

What about the King's Hill area just near Stoneleigh? That is in Warwick District Council, but adjacent to the CCC boundary, and they are planning on building 1500 houses there. Could include a stadium. There is also the Warwickshire Gateway site between the A45 and the airport - this is in Warwick District too, and a massive area of development ...

Ryton would be perfect, close to the A45 and A46, there is currently land that has not been used by ProLogis off of the Oxford Road, could easily get a 15,000- 20,000 stadium on there.

Should have said any supporter but that lunatic Johnson who would seemingly prefer the club to cease to exist.

That's the thing isn't it.

They may well not go through with it, if the council say "lets do it" then the onus is on SISU isn't it?

I have a feeling that land was given some sort of redevelopment grant that rules it out. Might be mixing that up with somewhere else though.

Could it be that SISU feel their appeal will be thrown out ?

Exactly, the council says 'we don't believe you' just means SISU can bat away any future criticism by saying they tried and the council point blank refused to assist the club.

The council simply has to back this, if it turns out to be rubbish then it only makes the council look good and SISU look even more ridiculous than they have in the past.

It also needs the trust to back it too. Anything else will show them up even more

I'm not as confident as you, just look at Glasgow Rangers a few seasons ago?

It'll be short term thinking by the club's I believe i.e. "Oooh we won't be relegated this season due to Coventrys demise!"

This is it, the responses now from CCC and the Wasps will be hotly anticipated, interesting to see how this pans out.

It's been "drop the legals" for weeks
Now they've offered to drop the legals on certain conditions
The response on Facebook is "drop the legals"

That is not a good offer at all. We would them be 50% liable for the money owed to Wasps shareholders. As the Ricoh is held a collateral from what i remember

Yeah, we'd be mad to pay £30m to buy in to something they paid ~£3m for and then be liable for 50% of a £35m debt.

I might be wrong but I believe this is a reference to when Hoffman offered to pay the Ricoh rent but he wanted half the ticket sales in return.

I’ve only read the letter so far as I’m walking home from work, but from this I’m picking up that SISU’s plan A to stay at the Ricoh ‘our spiritual home for the long term’ is no longer Plan A.

Well who would have thought that SISU have changed their minds again.
Shucks.

IF all of the statement is true.

Then i see that as reasonable from Sisu, Council let us build a new stadium in exchange for no more legal action. Let wasps have the Ricoh.

However does this mean we will drop Legal action against Wasps? As in they name the council could they open it against Wasps?

How about swaps, build Wasps a little stadium, they only need 12k capacity for most games.

Sigh

Define “help” and define “reasonable terms” and maybe we’re getting somewhere.

Are they wanting financial help buying land? Do they want CCC to give them/sell them land?

Still not sure what’s stopping them buying land and putting planning in. CCC can’t just deny planning because they don’t like someone. If the app conforms to policy it’s got to be granted.

Am I being too cynical in seeing this as yet another way to kick everything into the long grass so they’ve got time to distress Wasps?

It says ACL demanded the money unless I've read it incorrectly. I don't see why Hoffman would have made that offer through ACL.

Exactly. Didn’t the Telegraph issue numerous FOI requests and it proved that no enquiries had been made.... anywhere?!

They can make things difficult though. They can also make things difficult for people who deal with sisu.

Let's not bullshit otherwise

I may be wrong but I don't see it going this way, I believe the EFL will use specific wording in their question that will mean clubs can't really vote in our favour. 'Are you confident Coventry can fulfill their fixtures for next season with a suitable stadium deal' or something of that ilk, which of course, other clubs can't be. I might be looking into it too much but don't see it as a flat 'Do you want to expel Coventry City?'

What actually is the offer? It’s more of an accusation really.

Council will deny they are deliberately trying to stop CCFC building there own stadium and that wasps are ready to negotiate once the litigation is dropped.

You’d likely put outline planning in first I’d imagine. Sadly all the property experts are out of the office right now or I’d get a better answer.

So now it’s over to wasps to say (and id hazard a guess this is how the Westminster meeting will go) “Deal agreed - conditional on legal action being dropped”

Brings the ball back into SISUs court
