Sisu are desperate for cash! (4 Viewers)

I have just had a sales call from CCFC about renewing our season tickets. I will be renewing but I have left it late as possible because I don't trust Sisu one little bit. The lad on the phone said a lot of people have said they want to support the team but not the board. Seems like they must be pitifully desperate for money to start canvassing with phone calls, what will it be next, door knocking? what a sad joke sisu have become. LEAVE OUR CLUB NOW!!!!!!!!

I am not sure, it just sounds like standard sales practice to call and ask if you want to renew. It would be silly of them not to really.

So we have become a sales company now have we? Sorry Nick but it all seems to it seems to sum up the state OUR club is in. I have never been called by the club before and if I had decided not to renew they certainly wouldn't have changed my mind, or were they hoping to get lucky and think I may have forgot the new season is nearly here?

Absolute rubbish, how long have you been a season ticket holder? I used to always get the odd call about a promotion or something when I was in living in England. Anyway, bet you any team that can't fill it's stadium with season ticket holders will always go first to the previous holders as they're the most likely and easiest to bring back. Compared to trying to encourage new customers to come in.

I have been going to The City since 1965 as an 8 year old admittedly not every season a season ticket holder but have always attended the majority of games regardless of how successful we have been. How can you say absolute rubbish, your experience of the club calling is obviously different to mine, or is it the fickle fans that need to get called to persuade them to buy a ticket.

Yeah they've got a fickle meter next to every fans name so they know who they need to call

Seriously though I think its good they are making some effort to call people to encourage them to renew, I'd be more worried if they didn't give a shit. At least we are wanted by our club whereas anyone supporting a top prem team are just another number. If you haven't been called its probably simply because you haven't given the club your phone details before.

The club have always done this? I don't see your point? Of course they want to sell tickets, how dare they?

the reason we lose lots of money is that we dont have enough season ticket holders/regular supporters....dam them for trying to make money for the club!

I got a call just after the end of season to renew and got offered a tour of the Ricoh. After I renewed they rang with offers to say I could upgrade to a box for a special deal on the odd games or get a special offer on dinner at the club. Think its quite good there promoting, it makes you feel valued as a fan which is something we rarely feel also Im sick of sitting in an empty ground so what ever they can do to push up attendance I'm all on board.

Slightly off the subject but have you noticed if you buy something in either of the shops then they take your season ticket number?

My wife bought something in there the other week. She's not a season ticket holder but they still took her details... It's just for stats. If you go onto the club shp website and type in your details, there's a purchase history. It also means that they can calculate as to whether the fan base is growing or even declining. You could have quite a few dormant accounts... people who havent been to a match in a while or not bought the shirt, or you could have someone with £50 on his renewed season ticket for pies and beer, and recently bought three replica shirts, a duck, a nodding dog, a retro gnome and golf set as well as a... we sell some rubbish don't we!! (this fella is hypothetical you understand)

Anyway... you get the picture

its probably so they know what the average season ticket holder buys in a season so they can get a loan on the strength of it next season

There are plenty of reasons to complain about SISU, but the fact that the club are actively trying to encourage fans to buy tickets is a bit of an odd one.

I can only assume other clubs who aren't owned by pantomime moustachioed villains just sit back as the cash flies in.

Maybe I'm wrong, I can't make my mind up about this, I hate telesales calls but understand the positive spin put on trying to sell tickets, but not convinced that someone would change their mind about buying or not buying season ticket.

Due to the dire financial state of the club, and us once again, insisting that we don't need any new players to bolster the squad, i would imagine that ticket sales have completely stalled.
Trying to blag people into buying a season ticket for the sky blues, must be as difficult as selling advertising space in "the News of the world" or a fifty inch flat screen Telly to Stevie Wonder.

Yep I get calls all the time about various things, I remember one of the first times they left me a voicemail saying it was CCFC. Thought I was going to get a trial!

Probably would now!
