In any type of regulated business you cannot continue illegal activities while in office, regardless if you claim they have no tangible link. Its a case of demonstrating honesty and trust. Unfortunately the regulators here The FL & FA are fooking useless.

The fact Ranson was into this type of betting starts to explain why SISU would have been interested in us.

This I completely agree with and is why I shared the article on here - it makes sense.

My grudge is with SISU though for the aforementioned reason.

Taking a football club on was a mistake, they should have just stuck the transfer betting (provided that's what they were doing of course).

It's funny, Ranson is like Rose West to SISU's Fred in your little world.

I think you're getting my little world muddled up with your little world.

In my little world Rose West unwittingly introduced Fred to his victims and didn't murder anybody herself. ;-)

Edit: Although she was involved in transfer betting as a source of income and that's where they met haha

As far as club owners and MDs go, SISU are the current problem, and we can do something about it.

Some supporters have the view that NOPM won't affect SISU ie the costs have all been budgeted for and will be fully funded by SISU - that being the case, i'm sure they wont mind if we just carry on with NOPM, as it's the only power he have.

Can this be reposted in every thread LS posts in?

"He did it too!" is the kind of argument my Year 7s give.

Not sure how I feel about transfer betting on the whole, everyone benefits so not sure what the problem is. Except of course the accounting side. How does that impact on FFP and third party ownership rules?

Id also pop a tinfoil hat on and say that a Championship club is a better vehicle for this stuff than a Prem club, though Id like to see figures for profit from transfers, I suspect its best if youre buying from L1 and selling to Prem/upper Championship. Which would mean not caring about building a team.

stand to be corrected but wasn't Ranson behind Registered European Football Finance ltd who lent the club money against player registrations back in 2001?
Certainly the company appeared on city accounts pre-SISU as a creditor.

That's what I'm wondering. Did he transfer bet with our players?

No evidence to suggest he did which is why I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.

If he did though, then yes 'crook' and more than definitely in the same category as SISU.

It's a big accusation to make.

Next week; ginnetta tries to convince the forum Clive Platt was a quality centre forward.

I liked Platt. If he played same time as Beuzelin we'd have stormed the division. Slowly but surely.

Agreed, but the pool wasn't clean before they decided to do a poo in the deep end.

My preference would be to get rid of them all and run a club with a balanced budget. Success would require developing our own. Crewe on a grander scale (alternatively known as the German model).

Great quote in the article “Ethically, we think it’s very difficult that these sums of money are going to very opaque organizations, often with very complex ownership structures, that no one really knows where the money is going when those fees are paid,” Scudamore says.

Funny SISU brought us in 2007 when this was legal outlawed a year later and we have had no investment since. Is this the reason SISU brought us in the first place

But on who's backing, Thorn only ever ID'd the players?

If you you know more would love to hear it.

Would also be interested to know what wind you think is changing?

Many say that - slight problem is he was signed before them - Bob Dowie was the scout.

It is just that people often use players brought in to back up arguments like with Thorn he was a great scout and people go on and about Fox and Dann as an example who were signed before Thorn was even here...

Didn't Micky Adams identify Fox and Dann? Although the deal was actually completed under Dowie.

Didn't Eric Black discover them then pass the info on to Peter Reid who couldn't be arsed to follow it up. The info was then found in the top drawer of the managers desk by Micky Adams who had already spent his budget so gave it to Iain Dowie???

Have I, or is that a vague people often, as in changes with the wind?

Generalisations are not good if you're attempting to set an example

You're obviously overlooking the fact that Snoz and Curtis were there when both were conceived and knew from the rhythmic lovemaking, that both would be quality 'results'.....

Ranson gave his sports analysis company to the club to allow it to fulfill fixtures the year he left - at a value of around £5 million! Maybe NOPM will make sisu struggle maybe not, but giving money to sisu will definitely aid sisu! Certainly by paying you are guaranteed not to distress sisu!

Thus it is only logical that going to matches is aiding sisu. It is perfectly possible to support the team (which all fans should want to do) without physically being at matches! Only those trying to justift the unjustifiable are still trying to spout that myth.

Isnt this something similar to what happened when 'we' bought and sold robbie keane ?
The £5m profit wasnt the clubs, but belonged to the people who actually bought him...always believed GR was involved ?

Was this when the Ltd & Holdings split occurred?
