I can imagine him saying in his head “what the fuck are you doing Ellis. This is why we keep our personality in a locked box. Because of shit like this. A chicken?! Really Ellis?”

It’s nice to see him doing well for us again. Seems like a really nice guy. Always enjoy his holiday snaps on Instagram (and all the other players rinsing him in the comments), goes to some fun places.

Listening to Simms interview makes you wanna just give him a big cuddle. Couldn’t be happier for the guy. Gonna be a struggle for Haji now to get anywhere near him he’s on fire
Did you see other players taking the piss as they walked passed lol. Made him chuckle. Can see theres execellent team ethic.

He gave credit to Torp...seems to be a theme in all interviews.

As ive said consistently over the last 2 years!. Simms is young still only 24!

Watch closely his first goal..from different angles. How he tries to stay onside..looks across the line and makes the perfectly timed run.

I can think of other strikers/players who wpuld be offside.

Mentioned the other day....SIMMS IS HARDLY EVER OFFSIDE COS HE LOOKS UP.

Not gonna name and shame but others really need to learn how to lead the line.

Anyone else noticed how good Simms is starting to be with his head too?

previously either couldn’t time them for toffee (little Everton pun there football fans) or couldn’t direct them for shit.

How become a big part of how he keeps us moving.

always been an Ellis fan me but my love grows.

Let me make something clear though .. everything ive said about simms i stand by , he was poor for a most of last season for whatever reason he wasnt using any of his attributes .

Hes doing well so far this season , but we need and want this more often

I've defended him far more than you though got on his case last season as I was really disappointed with him.

But the idea some of the criticism of him isn't valid is nuts.

He's been wildly inconsistent. Hopefully he can start to put in consistent performances going forward.

The Simms we've been seeing recently is not the Simms Lampard didn't want to touch with a 10ft pole in the play offs even when Wright was clearly struggling. People doubling down when things change is a problem on here, i'm delighted he's looking good atm and long may it continue, still think he atrocious for the most part last season, especially towards the end of it.

On another note, anyone want try and get the whole stadium doing the Simms chicken at the next home game? "Lets all do the Simmo, lets all do the Simmo, cluck cluck cluck, cluck cluck cluck."

Hes a streaky confidence player.

Showed that first season...not alot first half of season. Then went crazy including back to back hatricks.

Simms was also carrying injuries back then.

Last season, despite BTA and Simms underperforming to historical lows in their careers, their goals in the Jan-Feb winning streak were instrumental in getting us to the playoffs.

Perhaps it was copium in the summer, but this period suggested to me that both players could make an impact this season. To be fully transparent, I did not expect BTA to be on 10+ goals this soon and wouldn’t have been too upset if we sold him.

No you were right tbf, although yeh no one could have predicted BTA turning into the monster he is atm. All i'll say is, Lampard and his team are something else.

I’m not going to smell my own farts on this one, the players have all surpassed expectations. Even Torp, I felt like he could have a big year and that probably looks like 5-10 goals over 46 games… he should get 10-12 this season which just top work.

Fair play to Lampard, he deserves all the plaudits and right now… I wouldn’t want anyone else leading this team and I’d back the club to make a really good go at staying up if we get there.

I think everyone had positions they considered priority and players they didn't think were particularly good but they've basically all been good haven't they to be honest. The table doesn't look like this otherwise. I also agree Lampard can make a good fist of keeping us up.

I still think we need to sign 1-2 wingers. Last night we were quite lucky in the sense that we could switch to a 5-2-3 or something with KKH as a WB. Otherwise, I did feel we would’ve struggled to change things up in a 4-2-3-1.

This is why we have the January transfer window and we’ll go for it. Getting the support we need win get us over the line.
