So thinking about us building for next season in the premiership fingers crossed.
is there any players in the parachute teams this season ie Leicester, Southampton, Ipswich, Shef Utd who would be worth us looking at or are we better avoiding ?

I think there are more players in the league than perhaps some think that could step up, but I also would avoid signing too many direct from the Championship as I think you need to mix it up, not to mention you don't really get value for money signing from within England. That said to answer your question...
Leicester:
Fatawu (the best player on the list)
James (doesn't belong to them anyway)

Ipswich:
Philogene

Southampton:
Scienza

Sheffield United:
Brooks

Might be missing someone but off the top of my head thats all id consider from the mentioned clubs. I think Ipswich probably come up with us anyway now, although I hope not.

I really hope we don't follow Ipswich's model when they went up which was pay huge fees for top level champ standard players like Greaves etc and I don't think we will.

Imagine we'll do a lot business in Europe. In terms of who I'd actually want - Fatawu from Leicester, Gus from Blades (just because I love him even though he's 19 stone), Scienza from Saints and I'd like Hackney from Boro.

I like Brooks, he's definitely one I'd look at

Nah. If they were good enough they’d have been snapped up on relegation.

AI gives me just these in the last twenty years who have stayed at a relegated club for a year or more then gone on to be successful in the PL, anyone got more?

Joao Pedro - Watford > Brighton moved age 22

Jarrod Bowen - Hull > West Ham moved age 23

Michael Carrick - West Ham > Spurs aged 23

Emiliano Buendia - Norwich > Villa aged 25

Most of those were one season in the Championship.

I think PL scouts are pretty good and it’s rare players play in the Championship and aren’t picked up if they can make it. Especially if they’re over 23.

In seriousness its ranked the 6th best league in the world these days. Higher than Dutch and Portuguese top divisions, for example. So it would be weird if there weren't a few.

About the only one I would be interested in. Only 22 and still with a lot to learn but who better than Lampard to shape him into a better player. Strong, fast and skillful. Perfect player to put on after about 70 minutes for the experience and slowly bring him into the side. Won't be cheap though.

I think we'd have to pay too much for what is essentially a prospect but having Monga come back from Leicester would be quite fun.

We won't have the cash to pay for players that would be better off going out on loan elsewhere. Once we're getting parachute payments then getting promoted again we could start looking at players for the future. But 1st season up every signing must be with a view of playing a big part in the struggle to stay up.

We aren’t talking about general Championship players though but specifically players who have played PL football and not been picked up on relegation. It’s a different subset.

And have clauses in their contract, don't do what Leicester have done, still paying their players Premier League wages in the Championship, crazy.

OK fair, id agree there aren't many. Of the ones I named only Fatawu and Philogene would have been there probably and I'm slightly on the fence about Philogene. Brooks would have been a kid at Blunts, Scienza wasn't at Southampton... so yeh I guess I kind of agree.
