We were supposedly signing him after we’d already signed Binks so it wasn’t really a ‘that or this’ type of deal.

Saddles source also said last year that if Binks stayed beyond Jan 2024 he’d sign in the summer and that was true. So it’s not likely it’s also true we had a choice between Binks or Doyle.

Wouldn't take much from that, he's played 2 matches in all comps. It's unlikely Lampard would want him because of his inexperience but he is good enough.

Maresca is an odd manager tho, they had so much experience on the bench and he went with Josh, similar with Madueke, playing brilliant then out the blue Enzo hasn't even selected him In the match day squads for a few games. Felix barely getting a sniff, Maresca does some strange stuff hence why Josh Acheampong starting wouldn't mean much in my opinion.
