time for evolution to continue, we have a stacked midfield unit so looks like 451 is our new default formation perhaps

marosi
dabo
mxfadz
rose
mcallum
walsh
kelly
allen
o hare
shipley
biamou

leaves us with westbrooke and eccles on bench to come on for any tired midfielders 2nd half and baka or hiwulla for biamou, nice strength in depth to have

lets start the charge for automatic promotion!

Godden will definitely be the go to striker sub. Eccles unlikely to make the bench.
Can see us going back to 3 if hyam fit

The Ipswich looked pretty good even if it is only one up front. O'Hare and Shipley are better than Hiwula and Jobello were earlier in the season at getting up to support the lone striker. This was the shape he played during his fist stint with us as manager

Same team as last night. Those 5 in Midfield worked perfectly. Shipperz and O'Hare edging forward to support Biamou.

Must be a nightmare for opposing scouts not knowing which combination of our 6 midfielders are going to play and which formation they'll be in.

Apart from Kelly I don't think any have a divine right to be in there, I can imagine training sessions are at an all time high at the moment with the good feeling and competition for places.

Robins seems to be doing a great job of managing the squad currently, can see last nights starting 11 being rewarded with their places on Saturday.

The strength of bench we will have on Saturday compared to the start of the season is very pleasing

Looking forward to this one and hopefully with last night’s victory it get the monkey off our back for winning away.
A minimum of 4 points from the next 2 games please.

I liked overloading the midfield yesterday, with our passing game it's ideal provided they get up and support Biamou.

Robins has about 3 go-to formations now and a strong bench. Its looking promising.

3 points is essential on Saturday.

If we want to stamp our mark on the league table, we need to get a few wins together. We have failed to take advantage of teams around us dropping points. (This is not a negative post, just keen for us to kick on)

wouldn't disagree with that but would love to be in a position with 15 to go to try a two up top of Max and Godden.

Didn't we play them almost exactly the same time last year. Absolute rubbish that game.

Our movement from midfield will cause teams a lot of problems, especially as we've got a variety of formations and options. Keep the same starting line up from last night.

Robin's is getting close to the side he envisoned with so many getting back to fitness. As he said before, keep in the hunt before the turn of the year and time for our unfit players to come back and we can push on. We have done that. Those players are all but back. Just Jones who needs some careful managed minutes. Godden about there but Allen now undropable and showing instantly why we bought him and a big difference he makes to us.

Shrewsbury are no mugs but we should have too much for them if we play the same way we did at Ipswich. So the same team if all are fit.
Jones on the bench with Hiwula and Godden. If there is a change I would surplant Mason for McCallum.

0-2 to the City

Mason didn't play very well against MK Dons last week.
Can't see Robins changing them over as Mccullum seems to have been making the spot his own lately

McCallum got some criticism for his part in the Ipswich goal last night but Dabo who everybody loves now was equally culpable due to him being completely out jumped by his man.

Maybe adding Jaime Allen’s intensity in there is what’s clicked everything together last night

We may well go unchanged depending on recovery from last night, but it is good to know we've got a few systems we can now make work and leave teams guessing.

Shrewsbury seems to be one of those places we never do well at and me feeling confident is usually a sure fire sign or a poor performance and result on the way.

Will go 1-3 City

Equally young players need resting and those not playing need game time to keep sharp. Nothing between these two but the opportunity to make that swap useful is there.

How many midfielders do we have now? Let’s throw ‘em all on.

We are due to give someone an absolute spanking. Going for 0-4. Biamou x2, Allen and a McFadzean header from a set piece.

Can anyone recommend any good pubs ? It’s my first time at this ground. Thinking of a couple along the river side then head to somewhere near the ground. Found a few but wasn’t sure where most will be drinking.

They’ve actually conceded very few goals (2 less than us) - only the top two have conceded less with the same games played. They don’t score many either (16) which is the same as MK Dons and only 5 more than Bolton.

So with our away record and similarities in defence and attack this on paper should be a close one.

Yes, it left us in 14th place and 18 points off autos. Win on Saturday and we could be as few as 2 points off the autos.

2/1 for Coventry to finish in the top 6 is something to keep an eye on. I think with everything we know so far, that these are very good odds.

Edit: it's actually 11/4.

Top 2 finish 18/1 That might be something to chew over for the next few weeks.
