Sheffield Wednesday given 12-point deduction for breaching EFL rules

Points deduction applied to next season; Charlton considering legal action and say decision to apply next term seems to be irrational

Let’s hope it’s Derby next too.

All goes towards our Championship survival.

Probably worth bearing in mind that they’re not starting on -12 because of admin so they won’t have the typical weakened side you’d expect from a team starting on minus points ala Bolton last season.

That being said they’d have gone down this season with 12 points so hopefully for our sakes this is one less relegation place to worry about.

...if Sheffield Wednesday have been deducted points next season?

I've heard a rumour but can't see it mentioned on here and thought someone might post something?

Starting with a 12-point head start ahead of the drop zone would be a dream.

What other teams could be heading for a point deduction?

My guess would be Derby and Blues?

Can anyone think of something funny we can say about people repeating the fact that Sheffield Wednesday are going to have 12 points deducted next season?

Makes no difference to us our aim is to finish as high as possible not even thinking about who we want to lose point to help our cause tbh

Charlton considering legal action to try and get the EFL to impose the
points deduction now. I hope they fail so we will have an advantage next season, Derby and Reading could also be hit with points deductions.

They’ll be really struggling if they lose their first 4 games and find themselves 24 points behind us

Charlton grasping at straws. They’ll never impose it for this season.

Didn't realise that the Sheff Wednesday owner had put his name in the seats!!!

Can't wait for the Sepalla Stand at our new ground.

It will help us, but I would rather it be other clubs in the Championship.
Lived in Sheffield for a while and have good memories of many trips to Hillsborough, and unlike the Blunts across town, I have always found their fans friendly and decent.

Might be on my own here but don't want anymore on minus points. Just makes the season a bit... Well shit don't it?
