Sheffield Wednesday "on the pitch" (18 Viewers)

I wouldn't big him up too much, they are paying him £25k a week. I doubt any other club would pay him close too that.
Their manager, Bannan and a couple of other players have said they don't want their wages until everyone else has been paid.

Bannan is a pr1ck on the pitch. But I admire him for staying at a club in so much trouble and galvanising whoever is left. He knew they are in big financial difficulties and would be left with mainly younger players. He is now vocal against Chansiri.

Sheffield Wednesday are not a good side. But what they do have is players giving their all for every minute of every game. If pushed to give a prediction you would say a win for us. Toothless Birmingham were the best side and scored twice. Sheffield Wednesday only managed 5 shots with 3 on target. That's football.

Mmm I think theirfans intention is to get the game abandoned - feeling selfish that it wouldn’t help us as the game would have to be replayed like the ips bb game - more game time with injury risk - we would be pissed if we were one nil up with 10 to go !

If they’re winning I doubt it will happen.

Firstly, I very much doubt there will be a pitch invasion on Saturday. The idea hasn't gained much traction here, the supporters trust wont condone it. We protest every game, all organised by the trust and it's not within their plans.

If Coventry fans would like to support our cause, we kindly ask for people not to buy food/drink within the stadium. Generally the food is overpriced and terrible quality anyway.

As for the racist comments, I admit we have an idiot element in our fanbase, but generally like all clubs, most of our fans are good, honest, working class people that simply go to support their team, we don't condone what happened with Kasey Palmer.

As for the Barry Bannan comment, Baz trained throughout the summer without a contract, he had offers from Millwall and Middlesbrough but stayed loyal to the club, signing a £7k a week contract.

Good luck for the rest of the season, after Saturday's game of course.

Does this compound the issue for the club though, his signing that contract?
Or should I say the fan's?

I'm fully behind you in wanting to get the owner out and somebody who will support the club properly in. We've been there so understand what you are going through.

As for not buying anything inside the ground, you have my support on that. Apart from the match ticket, no more money will be spent by me.

Hopefully the situation gets resolved before it becomes too late

Well you wouldn't think it would for a championship club with 20,000 season ticket holders.

The EFL stopped us from signing free agents after Bannan re-signed. Now we're at the point where we can't offer our academy players pro contracts.

We lost 18 players in the summer, we resigned Bannan on a tiny wage in comparison to his previous one. We have 13 recognised senior pros on minimal contracts, the rest of our squad is made up of youth players, the chairman still can't afford the wages. If Bannan hadn't resigned, it wouldn't have made a difference.

The ground itself looks in dire need of refurbishment. Each time I’ve been in the LL end it feels hideously unsafe.

All the best hope you get something sorted in regards to ownership

It's not gonna happen. The original suggestion was to get the game sold out and then invade the pitch as a show of support. The only stand sold out is the away end and they've currently sold less home tickets than their last home match against QPR. Season Ticket holders won't invade the pitch with a risk of being banned.

I think a few idiots will and my biggest concern is safety for our players if they do. It will only take one spark to ignite retaliation from our lot and then it could go very wrong.

It's horrendous mate. We've had 25 years of terrible and short sighted owners that have neglected it. Our fans had a big wake up call to the issues at Hillsborough this summer when it emerged the North Stand would have to be shut due to rust and corrosion on the roof.

Chansiri was made aware of the issue in 2021 and did sweet FA about it, other than try to fudge a survey via a Bangkok based surveyor that claimed earlier reported issues weren't there. Thankfully the city council weren't having it.

I dont think there will be any animosity from Sheff towards us or our players. It wouldn't do their cause much good if they behaved like imbeciles.

Mind you, it is football.

I'm sure more I agree. In fact 99% of their fanbase probably ok, actually 95% as its's them ;) but it only takes one idiot unfortunately and over the past few years they've proved they have more than one of those (although so do we!)

Only felt more unsafe in an away end at Loftus Road if that’s any comfort to Chansiri.

I feel for you . We know full well the helplessness you feel. You said the trust won’t condone it - we had that aswell. Division between the fan base it’s the worst possible thing.

I hope you get rid of Chansiri. Just upping sticks and just fucking off the players is just mental

It is a very helpless situation for supporters, we've had some dark days in the past 25 years but 2025 has been an awfully bad year for us.

Considering this, it's an exceptional start that the team have made.

Chansiri out! No fan base deserves that fecker, whatever the club. Won't be spending a penny in the ground.

The EFL looking to give Sheffield Wednesday a points deduction for not paying wages.

That's not going to hurt the owner. 🤔
