My irrational hate goes back to 1998. Pure pettiness - fucking hate them for beating us in the cup quarter final.
then being an unlikeable club under Warnock just made it worse. They seem to flourish when they’re just pure shithouses.

I'm supportive of their protests but others won't be. There's still bad blood and people won't forget some of their behaviour.
For what it's worth, I think the police and stewards will be active and I'm sure their club will issue statements about banning orders before.

That was at the height of the anger though. It's easy to forget where we were at that point. This was 5 years into protesting.
I'm sure Wednesday fans would be the same if we sing a similar song Saturday.

I agree. I've no problem with people disagreeing with what they have planned but don't think they're doing anything that different to what we did so you're either on board with both lots of protest or neither, anything else is hypocritical.

I don't have a problem with them protesting but they don't have my backing because of what has happened in recent years.
The one thing I am against is them invading the pitch and getting the game called off. Our supporters will have spent a fair bit of money with tickets and travel to go to the game. But anything else is fair play.
I bet their owner is hoping it goes to the Extreme end of things.

That's fine as long as you were against our support invading the pitch at home and away games which could easily have ended in postponements.
I'll be be here Saturday and hope to see 90 minutes of football with no disruption but if it happens I'll understand their motivation.

If there's an owner worse than SISU they have found him. My guess is he has secured loans on them so can't afford to sell for anywhere near their true value. Nobody at the club can contact him from thousands of miles away. He doesn't want the media coverage but it's a bit late for that.
Maybe a bit of clarification from the EFL would be handy by about tomorrow at 9AM?

I don't agree with pitch invasions during games. Afterwards no problem. Maybe even at HT. But we also have to consider the safety of our players and if we have hundreds or even thousands invading the pitch during our game we can't guarantee the safety of our players.

really not sure what to do, seems likely they are doing this. Meant to be be taking 6 year old tonight game, really don’t think I’ll bother with the 4 hour round trip.

At least our players and staff got paid. There was always someone there even if they did feed us shite. It was a battle between SISU and our beloved council.
With Chansiri nobody can contact him. He stopped paying the wages of players of no value but paid those of value so they couldn't leave. All the rest of the staff never know if they're going to get paid. They have bills to pay and rent/mortgages to cover. He separated the ground from the football club. He is the only one to blame for everything.
He has his name across the seats in a stand. It's a vanity project that's gone totally wrong. Hundreds of people are suffering other than the supporters. They have a few transfer embargoes outstanding. There's been offers for the club but he is holding out for 100m while it all collapses around him.

They are still playing football matches in their city and still in the Championship.
Not even close to what happened to us under SISU.

As has been said once they realise anyone on the pitch is likely to be banned then they won't be so keen on getting the game called off.

If they are saying that they will go on the pitch, this will 100% be on our players minds.
Will they be able to fully focus if this is going to be the case.
Can see a bit of worry from our lads, Sheffield Weds going 1 up, then the protest not happening due to this.....
I'd say it will be very unsettling for our players (theirs know they won't get touched)

Depends which way you look at it.
Our problems were a fight over ownership of what is now our own ground. When Chansiri took over Sheffield Wednesday owned their own ground. They now don't own their own ground. Chansiri has separated the two. They are going downhill very fast and if it continues like this they might not even have a football club to support. Have you forgotten what happened to Bury in recent years? Kicked out of the FL for financial irregularities.
EFL/FA rules state: "In all cases where the Management Committee are satisfied that a Match was abandoned owing to the conduct of one Team or its Club member(s) they shall award the points for the Match to the opponent."
So a 3-0 win to us regardless of scoreline at the time

If it does then it can be comparable. Our issues went on far longer than others.
Only a handful have had it as bad/worse and Bury are one of those.

Yes ours went on for many years but from when we went down to League 2 we improved each season until we reached the playoffs for the first time. And even then we came as close as you could ever get to getting to an FA cup final.
With Sheffield Wednesday it has happened so quickly and so badly. In hardly any time they've gone from being a very well supported football club to not owning their own ground and not having the money to pay the wages. They have an owner refusing to sell. They collect transfer embargoes for fun.
The FL gave Chansiri the OK to take over but it wouldn't stop them from kicking them out of the FL like they did with Bury. It's about time they grew a pair and try to do something about the situation.

If the football league were to make it clear before the game that they will forfeit the points if it is abandoned due to the actions of their fans, it would probably limit the number prepared to take such action.
