Sheffield Wednesday "on the pitch" (3 Viewers)

They did it to several players. As you can see from the comments from their own supporters it wasn't just a few.

Some people have very short memories when needed.

Well a few is clearly more than 2 or 3 but its not the majority that are the lifeblood of the club.

There are normal people like me and other posters at that club. I feel sorry for them.

It wasn't just a "few" of the fans in the away end that booed Palmer in the cup replay and to say it is is frankly weird.

Really? Any evidence to you show this or are you yet again being an insufferable fucking weirdo?

You are a proper pub bore mate.
I just doubt that either Sheffield Wednesday’s fanbase, or ours, is somehow uniquely thick or enlightened on this subject.

Exactly. The ratio of idiots to normal fans will be similar in all fanbases.

Our fans just seem to think they are high and mighty

When you can show that the majority of our fans (and it was the majority of them at that game) will boo a player for basically being racially abused then you may have a point.

Until then please forgive but you are talking shite.

I mean, It’s the same fanbase who chanted “She said yes, Marlon”

Every club is supported by people who will cast their basic decency aside if it clashes with the pantomime of a game or some social media beef - I’m not saying it’s acceptable, I’m just saying it’s unlikely we’re the exception to that.

I agree that Sheffield Wednesday do seem to have a larger than average unpleasant aspect to their support.

But being supportive is more to do with the general issue of mismanagement of football clubs by unscrupulous owners than Sheffield Wednesday themselves.

So we should be supportive of them, despite the fact that it's them. It's not within our interests to see clubs run into the ground.

It was less than 1% abusing him, it was far more than that booing him and defending the abuse/booing online.

This is 2025 Britain, racism just isn't a dealbreaker for a lot of people anymore I suppose.

It was no more than 1% booing him.

It wasn’t the first time he was booed and it won’t be the last

Lots of people booed taking the knee.

English football is no place for the imported racial divisions of America.

Two twats did vile monkey chants at him and got subsequently punished. Thats the end of it.

Wanting a whole fanbase to suffer because of that is just lunacy.

Especially as already pointed out on here, many of our own dismissed Marlon Kings sexual assault as a joke

A sizeable proportion of the crowd that night booed him.. Extrapolate that to their 150k fans 😂

I’m not sure why you think that’s an exaggerated number.

How many fans do you think we have?

I said it before, and he clearly ignored it as it didn't fit his narrative. Sheffield is the 4th biggest city by population in England with a population of 757,000. 150k is only 20% of the city. This doesn't include all the small pit towns and villages on the outskirts that are dotted with owls and Blunts alike.

To think a city of that size, with only 2 clubs, can't get 40% of the city's population as "fans" split between them is bonkers! I mean, they have 381k followers on X. I dont know about anyone else, but I dont follow other random teams i dont support on X? I couldn't say about facebook as I dont use it. But you'd assume a similar number, if not more, as more people use facebook.

But yeah, its laughable to think they've got 150k fans, clearly!

There are other ways they can protest. I'd say equally impactful to all go in early, sing and cheer then leave on the whistle to start the game. If they do that, I don't mind clapping in solidarity, but I guess those who are saying we should support the game being abandoned won't be travelling. It means wasting time, effort and money to then most like have to travel again.
Well if your going and not prepared to take the gamble knowing this might happen, then go and get your money back or sell your ticket.
