I mean they'll try, but if we keep moving the ball around at decent tempo and win the ball as high up the pitch as we do, they can only do so much.

The only winning move is not to play. Ten men behind the ball at all times. Every goal kick hoofed as far as possible.

It's far too early days to be comparable, but there wasn't much of a 'right' way to play against Leeds last season. You kind of got torn apart whether you tried to sit in deep or take them on.

It’s funny tho as I noticed first half today and against Millwall how we flipped the script.

Happy to drop possession to force teams to approach us and create space, at that point it’s going to be hard to come up with a way to block us out. Especially with how fluid we are and the amount of goal threats

100% this. When teams sit back we're almost happy to sit back as well to draw them out of their low block and then hit them on the counter once the ball is turned over.

There will be some games where it doesn't come off but I don't think we'll find it as consistently challenging playing against teams that just put 10 men behind the ball as we did last season.

I think we're less predictable - long throws (mis-throw from MVE lol), corners, free-kicks, quick throw outs, long punts from the keeper, cross field balls from the centre back etc

CB's also aren't afraid this season to play it long.

Much more vertical and threatening than last season.

Are we on for a Ben Wilson type stretch, culminating with Rushworth up front for a set piece scoring the winner?🫣

Raging. There was a five minute period early in the first half when we didn’t touch the ball once. Sort it out Frank!

As the lads are referencing classic goals from yesteryear this season, it's a shame Rushworth didn't have a pop at goal from a drop kick today. Had the wind behind him and everything.

The calmness and steadiness of Grimes from walking out onto the pitch; on and off the ball during game time; and post-match interview. You can sense his influence as a captain.

Just watched the highlights, that third goal is about the most offside I've ever seen, but balances out Wright missing the chance Grimes put on a plate for him earlier on.

Sweet finish from Sakamoto too.

The general criticism or sneering around Jamie Allen is embarrassing. Allen could easily get into a lot of championship teams but is seemingly happy to play as and when required.

Not many teams would have an experienced pro like Allen who can step into games when there is injuries to 2 or 3 key players

Made me smile - off the Owls website

Lampards having a better Saturday than me, his teams won 5 nil and he gets to bang his fit wife later. How the other half live

I'm not so sure. Nothing was really that clear cut once you see it back. The xG was less than the 5 in the end.

At a wedding, can’t wait to read this thread tomorrow.

Just wanted to say; Simms redemption arc is on!

And my best man speech mocks a load of Leicester fans who are here.

Good times.

I'm surprised that Wrexham or Charlton weren't in for him.

Just got back - quite incredible to be a City fan at the moment. Enjoy every minute everyone!

Great performances all round today, but Saka was immense. So glad he got a goal!

What a dump Hillsborough has become. Great support from our fans towards their protest.
