Does anyone have the stats from last season with Sheaf in and Sheaf out of the team, Be interesting to see the points tally with and without? Might settle a few folks nerves about him.

It has been posted on here recently - slightly in sheafs favour.
Something like 1.7 with and 1.5 without (or 1.5 with/1.3 without).... Roughly guessing.

From when the maths were done:

Sheaf has played 28 full games (three others he made a 12, 32, and 42 minute cameo respectively).

28 games with Sheaf: 34 points = 1.214 (points per game)

18 games without Sheaf: 30 points = 1.666 (points per game)

Form is very interesting to look at out, and how we fell out of it when he came back into the team particularly after his first injury. You can interpret the standard of opposition and cup games however you want, and I am sure we could be here forever, but there's no reason why we should be worried about being unable to win our opening games without him.

Might as well sell him then.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t Sheaf comeback roughly the same time Sakamoto got injured?

If you compare form with Sakamoto and without last year you would get a similar reading.

…but if we think about this a different way, three games without Sheaf means three games he’s not in the shop window, and possibly puts a hold on any potential approach, whilst also giving other players valuable minutes against arguably weak-ish teams

and anyway, we have options - SO MANY options, and it’s not like he wasn’t already injured so plans would be made to start without him anyway

add to the equation GIMOC speaks out of his poo hole a lot of the time and we’ve really got nothing to worry about, have we!

You really have no sense of humour.

Sorry for upsetting you, and BSB if need be, although somehow I don't think he will have taken it like you.
No offence taken, I just didn’t see Arsenal’s defending as a particular weakness last season. Saliba and Gabriel are already excellent.

Have we now seen the last of this excellent player of ours , as of yesterday, more rumours of Palace & Manure coming in for him are circulating & things have been so quiet on his “ injury “ ?
I will be sorry to see him go , but at least if he does leave , our recruitment team must have class replacements lined up , to get us to that next level .

Man Utd are going after sander Berge from what I've heard also on sky sports.

Me personally I think he stays here and captains us to glory of reaching the premier league.

I’m surprised Prem clubs seem to be looking at Sheaf ahead of Gus given rumoured prices. Probably think they can get Ben on the cheap.

I know they are both different cm’s but Hamer is more unique imo.

He looked overweight a lot of the time last season, it’s probably what puts them off.

It might help us to keep him if we can add to the impression that he is unfit.

Can one of our number please write a new song about Fatty Sheaf.

👍

I think we need him for this season - pretty well all the other pieces are in place for a real shot at autos - would be disappointed if he left but his agent will be busy hyping him up - won’t help him that he has been injured

Does seem to have gone quiet around his injury. But then who wants to give Stoke a heads up on our team plans apart from maybe Saddlebrains😉
