That's a good price, wish him well.

Just a few seasons ago Sheaf, Hamer, OHare was the best in the league.
Shows how well we've recruited because Grimes, Rudoni, Torp is now probably the best.

fucking hell, selling the club captain but it’s ok because we’re relying on Eccles, Latibeaudiere and Allen as replacements??

I do hope there’s at least one other CM lined up as none of those names are good enough if we’re serious about getting out of this division
A midfield 4 of Grimes, Eccles and Torp and Allen is decent.

My concern is that Eccles and Allen can ‘cover’ Grimes, but there’s no alternative to Torp for a more creative outlet. Torp himself hasn’t had the best of luck injury wise since he’s joined.

Right now, £6.5m is a good deal for Sheaf. Ironically, we would’ve got double had we sold him in the summer of 2024.

And what level of Torp cover can we realistically hope for?
We all hope for the top players for each position scenario but for most Championship clubs, including us, it's not realistic.

Maybe not. But we basically need someone who's a decent standard but who's happy to sit on the bench and play cameos here and there and not be called on unless there's injury or suspension.
There will be games and match ups where Torp isn't suited, we need someone with a different profile to play in those sorts of games.

But you're looking for someone who knows their time will be limited given how good our first 3 are, or you need someone on their level who's confident he can displace one of them, and that will cost.

Just shows how difficult it is to get players that tick all the boxes you're after.

Ifyoure not careful you end up paying 6.5 mil for a Ben Sheaf!

Thats the job of the recruitment team. For me, if we sign Woolfenden and a youngster on loan we haven't really pushed on that greatly from what we had last year.

How much damn money do they have,
It's like watching a rich kid teenager running through those football manager games running on overdrive to get a trophy for taking a non league team to winning the Premier league.
Not enough, they should have paid more English tax!

I'm happy with that deal. Great money for a player who's no longer first choice...
He's been great for us but injury prone and no longer our best defensive midfielder...
Move him on...

have to disagree there - Torp and Grimes are exceptional midfielders at this level, Eccles and Allen are not, and we need to bring cover in if we are selling our only other midfielder of any quality

Allen and Eccles have both contributed over the years, but neither are what we need at our current level, and Allen has unfortunately looked a bit lost when he’s played recently.

Eccles can stand in if needed, but we really do need another midfielder of the quality of Grimes / Sheaf if Sheaf goes, and I believe there will be one lined up..

Sheaf has been an outstanding performer for us in our rise 150+ appearances.

however the last few years especially with injuries have hurt him and us. People
Mention wolves game and the semi final - he ran the show from half time onwards - outstanding.

probably best for both parties this move, wish him Nothing but success and Health.

also kinda trust Lampard on this area the most, however, we must adequately replace him.

He will just be getting his hair and makeup sorted before his Hollywood debut.
