We let Jeffers go. He hasn't done that well this season as every other season. We kept Wilson and Clarke. They are both scoring lots. We are on a limited wage structure as most of us don't do games in Northampton. Yet we should have kept Jeffers.
Although I am an imbecile, I get the point. Ironic eh?
For those of us of sub-imbecilic intelligence:
1. We let Jeffers go for free.
2. We kept Wilson
3. Neither had shown much prior to this season.
4. Jeffers seems to be doing OK for a team currently sitting higher in the table than us.
Conclusion: maybe we should have kept him on a while longer.

The argument seems to be that we shouldn't let youth players go without giving them several first team games to see what they've got. Considering the high number of players that are in each year group in the academy that seems to be a bit impractical. We can't keep them all.
Jeffers was largely pretty poor today, his first touch was off, he was knocked off the ball easily, and was nowhere near the threat of Assombalonga alongside him.
We showed patience with Wilson because he was a talented kid who'd had a number of injury problems. We showed less patience with Jeffers because the people at the club had less faith that he'd develop into a good player.
I'm not knocking the kid, hopefully he carves out a decent career for himself, but from all I've seen I don't imagine he'll ever play at a higher level than he's at now.
