Part of the deal for them to sign Mason, Kastaneer, Hilsner, Allen, Jobello and Shipley.

Bit of a weird one. Wouldn't have thought we'd be having a training camp in Europe given the current issues so flying out for one friendly seems an unnecessary expense. Not to mention the hassle of needing everyone to isolate on return.

Taking Kasta, Mason etc out there, then leaving them. Hoping they get the hint?

We had planned a training camp in Spain but everything was on hold due to travel restrictions
Maybe this is part of the solution

Seems like they are taking an unnecessary risk to me
The terms must be very lucrative or what is the point !!
Only needs a change in the self isolating rules to create a major head ache prior to the season starting
You would think it would be easy to arrange another friendly with a Premier League team with fewer teams travelling abroad
Doesn`t add up !

Let's hope this one actually goes ahead and at the stadium it's meant to!
I've still never recovered from the bike ride the other year when we were meant to play here and didn't so cycled to the alternative venue / training camp 🤦🏻‍♂️😂
(Not that we get to go mind!)

What date is it?

Coventry City will be playing a behind-closed-doors pre-season friendly against Sevilla on Saturday 17th July.

The match against the La Liga side will be played at the Pinatar Arena in Spain.

Kick-off will be 7pm Spanish Time – 6pm UK time – and the game will be available for streaming via the Sevilla website.

The match is strictly behind closed doors due to COVID protocols – there will be no admission for any supporters to the Pinatar Arena.

Sevilla finished 4th in the league last season, with their squad including the likes of Ivan Rakitic, Luuk De Jong, Jesus Navas and many other star names.

The Club are following all Government Elite Sport COVID protocols for the fixture and several precautions will be enforced. All players and staff will undergo COVID testing before travelling to Spain and prior to returning to the UK. Players will quarantine as required on their return to the UK, however will be permitted to train at Ryton during this period.
