Sell Hyam - Keep the big 3 (1 Viewer)

I realise that we still have a few days left of the window so this thread may come back to bite me however at the start of the summer if you said we would sell Hyam and keep O’hare, Hamer and Gykores I’m pretty sure most of us would have taken it

So, why the outcry ?

Is it because

The defence has started off poorly (despite being poor for a couple of seasons) ?
We have started the season poorly ?
Hyam has been here for 5 years and there is a loyalty towards him ?
He is a genuinely good player and we will miss him ?
The perceived poor valuation and lack of reinvestment ?
The (as we speak) lack of experienced signings made this window ?
We all remember that we hate SISU despite not hearing an anti SISU song for 2 years ?
We all hate Wasps and everything is there fault ?

As long as there no more major surprises. And we bring in cover at centre back I'd be fairly happy. But cant hide or sugar coat the disappointment of this sale. Our best most reliable defender whis best years are ahead of him.

From an attacking point of view and considering being ring rusty. Add the fact we have Ohare to come back in a few weeks. I'm still fairly optimistic.

But relying on Mafadz/Rose and Panzo.
For a whole season makes me shudder. Rose still has so much to prove.

Our defence is yet to be tested properly that's what I fear.

I expect Vik to be gone on the cheap this week. I have absolutely no inside information whatsoever.
I just think SISU are looking for cash wherever they can get it , and couldn’t care less how it effects the playing side of the club.

If Hyam is the only sale then that would be ok if we are bringing in a replacement, the worry is Robins said that the Hyam decision was taken at board level looking at the people on that you wouldn’t be shocked to see another moved out in the same way.

So why did Robins go out of his way in his interview to say it came from left field and specified the “board have accepted an offer” doesn’t look to me like he sanctioned it at all.

Better dialogue with a devious bunch of liars,than no dialogue at all. Pete keeps the contact, and we now know he doesn’t believe all he is told.

But it's swings and roundabouts. If they take sell the player and the team performs poorly then the price people are willing to pay for the club goes down. It's a nonsensical thing to do.

Out of the blue injury keeps him out of the PNE game and you know the rest. Terrible feeling in my gut, and I’ve tried the toilet. With how the last few weeks have been, suspecting fans can’t be blamed.

Couple of things here.
- Hyam sale - feels like a "take anything we need cash" deal.
We know MR had no say.
- if we need cash - fully expect another departure before window closes.

Now - if you were Vik, with the way we have started the season in all ways, what are you saying/feeling??

As a result of the above - I'd say clubs/agents will be alerted to the situation around the Hyam sale...

Think we know what is coming- and it is not the title of this thread....

Fingers crossed we only lose a defender in the window. Who would have thought? Keeping our best players is very positive for the season ahead. Panzo looks decent to me and even the young Doyle has good pedifree and will be fine. Rose has some improving to do and we need another right sided CB.
I think much more importantly, we need a CM player who can affect the game. Eccles promises but is not going to be there this season. That for me would be an equal priority as that CB. Allen is just not good enough. Works hard but has little effect on a games trajectory. Of course Adramola has still to get match fit and I think will take the LB slot off Bidwell.

If this is true why didn’t they accept Middlesbrough’s offer? Why didn’t they accept Burnley’s offer. I expect the club has over extended itself when they offered the new contracts mid season expecting it would generate higher offers. They then appear to have played hard ball with the offers all of which the fans supported but the higher offers haven’t come in. If it was Rose I don’t imagine the feelings would be the same trouble is Rose’s value at present is no where near Hyam’s

Not sure it will be dependent on me but I can assure you as vice chair that I’ll pull the questions together and record the answers given in the notes. Some of you won’t like the answers as you’ll think he can’t explain away his mistakes but hey that’s the rub
