Judging the Frank Lampard change (2 Viewers)

To kick off I was one of the people who were supportive of the change at the time so this isn't some misty eyed look back to MR's reign. My point at the time was we can't keep having poor starts to the season and just accept it as it puts way too much pressure on down the line. I did however say I'd only judge FL a success if he A, got us promoted last year or B, gave us a better start to the season. I have attached the Table from last year at 10 games in which is a decent slug of the season to judge on. Long and short it's looking pretty good so far let's see where we are at 10 games. My only slight negative is we need to turn some of the draws in to wins which FL already acknowledged.

It was an odd one yesterday, some of our absolute best chances we fluffed our lines on. BTA swinging his foot and missing the ball is nightmare inducing.

What's the comparison from the equivalent games last season? Gut feeling is we've got more points than we did from these games last season.

Let's just hope we can keep it going. The concern is squad strength, or lack of it, will force us to push players to their limit which increases the risk of injury. Hopefully we can get through to January without too many injuries and strengthen then.

You don’t need stats to evidence the differences.
1) We’re scoring more goals
2) We’re playing better attacking football.
3) Player morale is obviously up.
4) The back room staff are better.
5) We’re higher in the league.
Defensively and from set pieces I’d say we’re static.

Not sure what you want to compare Leicester to but Burnley, Leeds and Sunderland we got 1 point away to these teams I think?

We've just played 2 decent teams, including Leicester who were many people's favourites to run away with the league, and Norwich who have one of the best strikers in the division and are targeting a top 6 finish themselves. we scored 1 we conceded 1, That's hardly cause for panic, and hardly a reason to suggest the goals have "dried up"
We are just as likely to score 4 against Brum.

We've looked more solid in the last 2 games and we arnt looking so vulnerable from set pieces anymore, and Rushworth looked like the keeper we thought we were getting, after looking suspect previously.

Its one thing saying we have to turn draws into wins. That's obvious, but what we have done is turn defeats into draws, which is the first step.

This time last season we would of lost to Leicester and Oxford, so there's a steady progression under Lampard, and given the fact that our squad is a couple of quality players light, as shown yesterday when there's no natural wide replacement for EMC, I think we've done well so far.

Performances clearly light years ahead of our start last season. I said after the Cardiff game (Lampard’s first) that I thought this is the style he wanted. Squad a little thin to be playing high-pressing football consistently though so there is a risk it drops off.

The first couple of games, you are finding your feet, so Hull and Oxford are excusable. It's been a mixed bag of tough and easier opposition. There are plenty of easier ones coming up and i would expect the way we are playing more wins are certain . Bristol have had a far easier looking fixtures list for their start tbf. Drawing with Norwich and Leicester away are good results. We are unbeaten and there is a sense that we intend to seek promotion automatically. January transfer window could be key to that goal. Interesting that Thomas and Kitch kept a clean sheet away at Leicester and looked pretty solid for 90% of the game with good discipline. Amazing what the threat of another new signing who is expected to play can do. Think Wolfenden may have to wait for a Kitch or Thomas mare.
Fitness seems to be a question mark. There were some tired legs yesterday. Do think we missed EMC out wide and Asante running in behind down the middle. He was inffective out wide. So player fitness is key. Squad depth is lacking of any real quality. Hope we can get a head of steam before any injuries. It's all good and optimism is high.
